A little lunch on Dunk Island before we paddle home after 6 days in the islands. Full bellies & hearts content.

It's been a wonderful season so far with the weather gods (mostly) smiling on us as we've explored the Hinchinbrook and Great Barrier Reef wilderness. Whales have been jumping, dolphins skimming, birds flapping and turtles basking in the glorious north qld sunshine 🌞

What a way to start the day! Warmup stretches in the sunshine before our final day 6 paddle back to the mainland. 👌

This trip started with some rough weather, but this amazing crew was rewarded these last few days with sunshine, following seas and a square tailwind.

What an epic week!
Several Girringun Rangers and young people from the Girringun community joined us on last week's Hinchinbrook trip, and the weather gods turned it on for the team! Highlights included daily glass outs, whales doing backflips in the distance, fish schooling under our kayaks, epic snorkel sessions, and a dugong sighting!

We're looking forward to future trips with to continue learning g about the place and to create super cool opportunities for young people get out on country. 🤙

Day 4: Camping at Wilderness Cove on the East side of Goold Island is a rare treat, but we take it when the opportunity presents! It requires specific weather conditions to make the landing because at mid-low tides you need to thread the needle between several boulders to get in or out.
