🐋 It's the perfect time of year to celebrate World Whale and Dolphin Day because whale migration is in full swing along the Mid West coast!

Over the last few weeks we've been spotting whales almost constantly off the coast of Geraldton as they make their annual journey north. Many of the mums are travelling with their calves, and it's always incredible to watch these youngsters learning from their mothers while stopping to take advantage of the rich feeding grounds along our coastline.

If you've been thinking about getting out on the water or into the air, now is one of the best times of year to witness these amazing animals in their natural environment.

A huge thank you to everyone working to protect whales and dolphins so future generations can continue to experience this incredible migration. 🐋💙

Australia continues to be a global leader in whale protection:
• This September we are hosting and chairing IWC70, the 70th meeting of the in the City of Hobart. 🎤
• We established the Australian Whale Sanctuary. 🐳
• Through conservation efforts we have helped support the recovery of at-risk whale populations. 🌏

There is still much more to be done. At , we will welcome other leaders in to help address threats to cetaceans, including:
• bycatch and entanglement 🎣
• ship strikes ⚓
• climate change 🪸
• pollution. 🚮

One of the best walks in the Abrolhos. 🌊

The boardwalk on East Wallabi Island winds its way through white coral sand, coastal heath and crystal-clear waters, leading visitors to some of the island's most spectacular views.

It's hard to believe this pristine island paradise is less than an hour's flight from Geraldton. ✈️💙

We’ve got some exciting news to share… 🎉

Nationwest Aviation (also known locally as Geraldton Scenic Flights) has won the WA Regional Business Awards – 1–5 Employees Category!

And if you’re passing through—keep an eye out, because the trophy is currently sitting proudly in our Geraldton terminal 🏆

Although we operate with a broader team across multiple bases (including right here in Geraldton), the seasonal nature of tourism means many of our crew are part-time—placing us in this category for now.

It’s something we’re actively working to grow beyond, with the aim of creating more full-time opportunities as we continue to expand.

A huge thank you to our Geraldton team and everyone who has flown with us—you’re a big part of why we’ve been recognised.
