OUR HISTORY:
RIVER LADY TOURS with RIVER LADY VESSEL successfully operated for 13 ½ years on the Darling River and Lake Wetherell at the Main Weir, Menindee, NSW from Easter 2000 to November 2013. Skipper, Malcolm Lamshed, and his partner, Pat Godsman, ran boat trips of 1 hour and 1 ½ hours duration and offered Tour Options of: Day Cruises, Twilight / Sunset Cruises and Extended Day Cruises
(by arrangement). Catering Options included lunches - BBQ’s (from June to September), and
Cold meat & salad packs available from March to November. We comfortably accommodated coach groups as well as general trip enquiries, and had a permanent booking with Silver City Tours in Broken Hill on Mondays and Wednesdays of each week. A commentary was given on each cruise, which included information about the Barkindji people who once lived alongside the Darling River; the abundant birdlife, animals and fish that inhabited the wetlands area; tales of the paddlesteamers that travelled from Goolwa on the Murray River to Bourke on the Darling; stories about the many pubs that operated besides the river and the characters that ran them; and much more. RIVER LASS VESSEL was introduced in 2012 and is in Survey to carry 5 passengers + 1 crew
PRESENT:
We made the decision to semi-retire at the end of 2013 and relocate from Menindee, NSW to the township of Moorook on the Murray River, SA which eventuated mid November 2013. After careful consideration, and because riverboat skippers are lost without water and their boats, we decided to continue to operate our business and
offer the running of CRUISES ONLY from Loxton with RIVER LADY boat. And from Moorook with RIVER LASS boat which are ‘Dog Friendly’ one (1) hour cruises. COACH GROUPS WELCOME – With RIVER LADY, for passenger numbers over 25 we run 2 trips back to back. We suggest the Loxton Hotel for any meals required. Sorry we do not have wheelchair access. We have a portable toilet on board for emergencies. RIVER LADY BOAT will operate at Loxton on a BOOKINGS ONLY arrangement with a minimum number of Six (6) passengers required to run any cruises. RIVER LASS BOAT will operate at Moorook on a BOOKINGS ONLY arrangement with a minimum number of Four (4) passengers required to run any cruises. For all other enquiries, please contact:
