🌸 Flowering Now🌸 3 August 2026

Koolanooka Dam Reserve is East of Morawa, in WA’s wildflower country. Not to be confused with the Koolanooka springs camp spot, a bit further down the road and also flowering now.

Best accessed off Baxter road. But there is no signage and not a proper car park. So uses your navigation skills and follow the drop pin, pull off the road when you see a bit of orange tap on a bush and there is a mud map in the comments. But hurry- these flowers won’t hang around long.

We know finding dinner didn’t used to be Morawa’s strong point but Morawa Hotel is under new management and you are more then welcome.

3 short 4WD tracks that can be done in a day trip from Morawa or Perenjori, Western Australia.

🕚 Best time to go: May to October. If your looking for wildflowers then August to September depending on winter rainfall.

⚠️ Getting bogged is a serious risk after rain. I have seen a seasoned local traveller get very bogged on the Perenjori-Rothsay road so be prepared with all your safety gear.

🚧Unfortunately signage to the start of these tracks is not great. For example the sign onto the Lochada Track off Mungada road is tiny and behind a shrub and you will probably miss it. Once your on the track navigation is done by following the little brown signs.

Morawa is approximately 4 hours North of Perth and 1.5hrs inland from Geraldton. Accommodation options includes caravan park, an Air BnB and motel style units at the pub (which is under new management).

Why not base yourself here for a few days and enjoy Karara Rangelands Park.

Grey nomads, travelling families and everyone in between will find a place to camp around Morawa in Western Australia’s Wildflower country.

If you have a caravan, camper of any description or humble tent you will feel right at home.

All these places are 2WD accessible (some are on gravel roads)

Save for later and share with friend who loves the back roads.

🌸Flowing Now🌸

July 2026 has meant the orchids are out and everlastings are beginning in wildflower country.

Here’s what out…

🌸Donkey orchids

🌸A few different everlastings are starting out. Full flower for everlastings will probably start beginning on August. The the famous wreath flowers turn it on in September.

Open for business for 2026

👋Come into the Morawa visitors centre on corner of Dreghorn st and Prater st.

👀Look for the town hall

🚘Huge car park to the west of the town hall with room for even the biggest caravan

📚This is the place to get maps, wildflower books, magnets, crafts and good advice.

🙋‍♂️Meet the locals and the the right advice about what’s flower and where.

🕐 open 10am-2pm 7 days a week, with the possibility of extended hours depending on how many volunteers are around.

🗒️ If the centre is closed and you need help, try visiting the Morawa CRC or Morawa shire (on the main st) during business hours.

🙋‍♀️ Being a volunteer run venture don’t get mad if you arrive in town and we are shut. We wish we could be open all the time too but humans are human and rest occasionally.
