Our hearts go out to everyone impacted by this extreme weather event. 🤎

Thankfully the forecast is for this rain to finally clear and sunshine just in time for our beautiful bride checking in today. We’re so fortunate to be located at one of the highest points of Morpeth and remain dry.

We’re praying for rainbows 🌈 and clear skies ☀️ for everyone as the mop up begins.

I love the heritage listed Morpeth Bridge opened in 1898.

An Allan truss design, it’s made from iron and wood. I love walking beneath the bridge and seeing the sturdy piers that have carried countless vehicles including horse and cart for more than a century.

It is the oldest surviving example of an overhead-braced Allan truss road bridge in service and is one of three surviving overhead braced timber truss road bridges in NSW.

Kinda like our own ‘bridges of Madison County’ don’t you think?

There’s now a new walkway beneath the bridge taking you alongside the Hunter River or have a pint at the to see the beautiful bridge from above.
