Have you got a tourism project ready to go?

Round 2 of the Regional Tourism Infrastructure Fund (RTIF) is now open. Grants of up to $300,000 are available for tourism infrastructure projects across regional Queensland.

The program supports projects that help attract more visitors, encourage longer stays and increase visitor spending in communities outside South East Queensland.

RTIF targets projects such as:
✅ New tourism attractions
✅ Eco-lodges and glamping experiences
✅ Agritourism ventures
✅ Ecotourism experiences
✅ Stargazing and dark sky tourism projects

Applications close Wednesday 9 September with the announcement of successful recipients in December 2026

Douglas small businesses – recovery support is available

If your business is still feeling the impacts of recent disaster events, you may be eligible for funding through the Small Business Recovery Assistance Grant Program, now open.

Who it’s for: Small businesses in Douglas Shire significantly disrupted by severe weather events between 24 December 2025 to 24 April 2026, including the impacts of the loss of the Daintree Ferry.

What it supports:
• Wages and salaries
• Rent or rates for business premises
• Replacement of damaged or lost stock
• Marketing

Applications close: 5pm, 5 May 2027 (or earlier if funds are exhausted)

This is a competitive grant, so eligible businesses are encouraged to apply early. Funding is for extraordinary costs directly related to disaster impacts and recovery.
