In 1836, my four-times great-grandfather, Samuel Mills, landed in Adelaide and cultivated wheat on the site now occupied by the Royal Adelaide Showgrounds, due to the need for food production. He and his brother, both builders, were granted a plot known as Ravenswood, which eventually influenced the suburb's name, Millswood.
