Vale Sam Neill, 1947 - 2026.

A great actor and by all accounts a genuine down to earth bloke.

A few years ago (2020) he starred in the movie "Rams" along with Michael Caton and Miranda Richardson. A wonderful film set in Mount Barker (WA) and surrounds and including views of our spectacular Stirling and Porongurup ranges.

A sign was made especially for the movie and today it hangs in the Mount Barker Visitor Centre ! We also have a "Rams" Self-drive brochure available showing important locations in the movie like the Plantagenet Hotel, the Sheep Pavilion at Frost Park and even the farm home of the ram who was a star in the movie ...

Yongergnow Australian Malleefowl Centre is dedicated to the conservation of the iconic and vulnerable Malleefowl.
The centre is located near the small WA town of Ongerup, about 45km NE of Bluff Knoll in the Stirling Range.
It has large custom built avaries with live Malleefowl, and they have had breeding success over the years and returned young birds to the wild.
The centre has a multimedia interpretative mallee and Malleefowl display. There is also a cafe and a gift and souvenir shop. Well worth a visit!

When we first moved to Kendenup we missed the Nativity play and Christmas Carols at the Kendenup Town Hall. We said we'd go next year, but then the hall was closed by the Shire.
The curtains were removed, and the stage declared unsafe.
I'm so proud to be part of a community that has rallied around the hall to get it reopened, especially as a lot people are involved in volunteering in one, or more, of the other community groups in town.
So many people have contributed, some big, some small and I can't thank everyone enough.
We have new curtains, the stage is now safe, and we're going to host the Nativity play this year!
If you'd like to be involved, every little bit counts.
Thanks from the Kendenup Town Hall committee.
