The call has gone out across the realm! Expressions of Interest are now open for performers and reenactment groups to join us for the 2027 Fantasy Medieval Fair, returning to Mount Gambier on 17 & 18 April 2027. We’re seeking bold performers, skilled fighters, musicians, storytellers, living-history groups and passionate reenactors ready to fill the fairgrounds with spectacle, sound and medieval spirit. From the clash of steel in the arena to music, demonstrations, roaming characters and unforgettable displays, this is your chance to help bring the realm to life and become part of one of the region’s most immersive weekends.

A reminder, for anyone who is interested in joining the team, Luke will be at the RSL tomorrow night (Tuesday 21st) at 6:00pm. He's the one in the high vis vest eating, in case you need to know who to look for.

We do have several positions that require filling. Some more urgent around the time of the event, some on a consistent monthly basis that don't require you to be at the event at all.

As we begin planning for the 2027 Fantasy Medieval Fair, we’re looking for a few wonderful people to join our volunteer planning committee and help bring the magic to life.

We are currently seeking:

Secretary
To take minutes at our monthly meetings, held on Tuesday nights. Meetings may become more frequent closer to the event. This role does not necessarily need to be available on the weekend of the Fair.

Sponsorship Coordinator
A great fit for someone who enjoys networking, is confident chatting with people, and would like to work closely with our Marketing Coordinator to build strong local partnerships.

Volunteer Coordinator
This role will come on board closer to the event, attending meetings and helping with volunteer recruitment, task planning and sharing information with our event volunteers. This person will need to be available across the Fair weekend: Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 April 2027.

Whether you’re keen to take on one of these roles or simply want to learn more about helping out, come and meet the team at our informal gathering:

Take us back to the Medieval Feast, where the fires were warm, the meals were hearty, the mead was flowing, and the night rang with the incredible sounds of traditional Hungarian medieval music from Bordó Sárkány.

There’s something truly magical about gathering by firelight, sharing food, laughter and music, and feeling, just for a moment, like you’ve stepped into another world.

A feast for the belly, the ears, and the soul. ⚔️🔥🍖

Six weeks have passed since the glorious Fantasy Medieval Fair, and after gathering our thoughts, catching our breath, and reflecting on another wonderful year, the committee is now preparing to embark on planning the 2027 fair.

As we look to the future, we would love to hear from the patrons who helped bring the magic to life. Your feedback helps us understand what you loved, what could be improved, and how we can continue shaping the Fantasy Medieval Fair into an even stronger, more enchanting experience for years to come.
