Ewamian people are the owners of Talaroo Station, a 31,500 hectare property on the Einasleigh River which contains significant natural and cultural sites including hot springs, archaeological, occupation and dreaming stories sites.

Talaroo was purchased on behalf of Ewamian people in 2012 through the Indigenous Land Corporation and the National Reserve System. It is now ma
naged as an Indigenous Protected area and Nature Refuge according to International management guidelines. Talaroo tourism aims to integrate culture, heritage and unique ecosystem stories in an accessible outback setting and enhance the existing tourism offering in the Etheridge Shire. A destination for local, interstate and international visitors to be given insight into Aboriginal ways of seeing, experience Aboriginal hospitality and take away a deeper form of reconciliation between people, culture and place. The geologically unique hot springs forms the nexus of the enterprise with other experiences and accommodation shaping the business narrative around them. Talaroo Hot Springs tourism represents the first stage in our Vision for Talaroo to become a hub of cultural wellness for the community and visitors to country.
