Hello to our packing community 👋

I’ve been approached by Mittagundi, an Outdoor Education program based in the Victorian High Country, to see if we can lend a hand.

Mittagundi provides incredible experiences for young people aged 14–17, helping them explore both the High Country and themselves through hands-on, outdoor living.

As part of their program, they pack saddle all supplies into camp each trip. Their current pack horse is now getting older and ready for retirement, so they are looking for two new pack horses.

What they’re after:
• Minimum 5 years old
• Quiet, sensible temperament
• Some experience preferred
• Ideally no bigger than 15hh

If you think you may have a suitable horse—or know someone who might—please send me a message. I’m happy to assist with the process and help assess suitability.

There is a small remuneration available, though this is a largely self-funded program.

Also their pack equipment is getting old, so maybe we can rustle up some gear for them as well.

We will be heading up to help teach and aid the leaders in packing systems.

Max 6 riders per trip, based in Narbethong (about 1.5 hrs from Melbourne).

Hope these come through ok...it is a sawbuck tree.... has Outfitters supply breeching.spofrr and breast plate....the boxes etc are from there also....it also comes with a a double packing mohair girth by Cinches Downunder..plus a 5 star felt pack saddle pad...one of the packbag covers has a small repair otherwise in perfect condition...we live in Oberon NSW....pH 02 63356241...am looking at around $4000 or sensible offer...have been through and priced everything new...and with exchange rate etc from USA this is pretty reasonable... cheers Hazel
