🚨✈️🌎Important Update for Travel to South Africa🌎✈️🚨

Effective 1 July 2026, the South African Revenue Service (SARS) requires all travellers entering or departing South Africa to complete a mandatory online Traveller Declaration prior to travel.

This declaration forms part of South Africa's Customs process and enables travellers to fulfil their legal obligation to declare goods, currency and any other relevant items being brought into or taken out of the country

What You Need to Know:
❓Who does this apply to?
🌎All travellers entering or departing South Africa by air, land or sea.
❓When should it be completed?
🌎Within 24 hours of your departure.
❓Why is it required?
🌎To declare goods, currency and other applicable items in accordance with South African Customs regulations (South African Revenue Service)

The online Traveller Declaration can be accessed via the SARS Traveller Declaration Portal.

We strongly recommend that travellers complete their online Traveller Declaration well in advance of departure to help avoid delays at South African ports of entry and exit. ✈️🚨Important Information for Travel to Europe ✈️🚨

The European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) will be an electronic travel authorisation expected to start in the last quarter of 2026. It will be an entry requirement for visa-exempt nationals travelling to any of the 30 European countries. It will be valid for up to three years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first. If you get a new passport, you will need to get a new ETIAS travel authorisation. ETIAS is different to the EES data collection system.

We have included a list of the 30 countries that will require an ETIAS, if your or your family members have citizenship of these countries, please ensure you have done your research and confirm whether you are directly affected as a result of the dual national requirements.

Dual nationals who hold the nationality of a European country will not be eligible for ETIAS. You must travel to Europe using your passport from your European nationality (similar to how Australian citizens cannot apply for an Australian visa, and like the new UK entry requirements and their dual nationals).
