TravelManagers - Nicole Edgar, your Personal Travel Manager About Me:

My first taste of travel, was as a child, being taken on many and varied family holidays, both overseas, and on road trips within Australia.

Nicole Edgar is part of TravelManagers Australia, a network of travel specialists, who have been selected from amongst the best in the industry, to provide you with a personalised travel agency service, when and where you need it. It quickly made sense to make a career out of something you enjoy – travelling, and gaining the education and personal growth that comes along with visiting different p

laces, experiencing different cultures, and meeting people from all walks of life, all over the world. And what a positive and great job to do – creating, planning and selling people’s dream holidays! My career in the exciting travel industry, began in 1992, when I studied at Jetset Travel Training College, Melbourne, and achieved my Diploma in Travel – in both International and Domestic. My first position was working for Greyhound/Pioneer coaches, at their Franklin Street, Melbourne coach terminal. Then my 10+ years of travel agency experience began a few years later, initially starting out as a Domestic travel consultant, and working my way up to International travel consulting, plus Assistant Manager and Senior Sales Consultant’s roles. It was during this time, that I was nominated for the prestigious travel industry award, the Avis Travel Agent’s Scholarship of Excellence (in Customer Service), in 1999. Voted on by highly respected travel industry peers and reputable judges, I took out the Victorian title, and was an Australian finalist. I’ve has also won numerous “top seller” awards with various wholesalers, which sell a diverse range of products, to different target markets, of varying interests and ages, such as retirees, families, schoolies, adventure travellers, solo travellers, couples, students etc. Having travelled extensively to 30+ countries to date, and around most of Australia, I pride myself on my great geographical product knowledge, customer service and rapport that I have steadily built up with my clients, many of whom are now repeat clients and have become good friends over the years. I like to ensure that your stress is taken away – not just whilst you are on holiday, but throughout the whole planning process of your travel arrangements, from the first quote, to the day you return home after your memorable trip. I create and organise all of your travel arrangements with enthusiasm – as if it were my own holiday I am in the process of planning. So on that note, it’s suffice to say that I look forward to the next phase and chapter of my life: travelling more, but this time with my family; continuing to build up a successful business with TravelManagers; and relishing the opportunity to be of help, providing advice and great customer service to you, when you next wish to plan your travel arrangements! Just remember this: I’d love to tell you where to go! PLACES I’VE TRAVELLED TO:

MOST UNUSUAL TRAVEL EXPERIENCE I’VE HAD:

Flying over Victoria Falls & the Zambezi River in Africa, in a microlite (basically it’s a hanglider with two seats for the driver & passenger, with a propeller on the back)...scary, awesome, amazing!!!

Western Sydney Airport (WSI), will soon be opening. And unlike Sydney Airport, WSI doesn’t have a curfew! You can book flights to/from WSI, as of today! 🛫

I ticked off a major bucket list - l visited the UNESCO world heritage site, Angkor Wat Archeological Park!

Built in the 12th century, besides the sheer size of it being 1.62 square kms, what’s interesting about it is that over the years it has changed religions, from a Hindu temple to Vishnu, then to a Buddhist Centre.

1000’s of people arrive, facing east around the lake, before dawn, to see its famous sunrise appear over the towers. That’s the best time to see & visit it, before the hottest heat of the day.

Although it’s visually spectacular, the site is not great to explore if you have any mobility issues, with lots of steps and uneven ground. Wear study & comfortable shoes with grip.

The Angkor Wat complex is located about 5.5kms north of Siem Reap, Cambodia. Visitors can purchase 1,3 or 7 day passes to see it all, including Ta Som Temple & Ta Prohm Temple (made famous by ‘Tomb Raider’). Due to the heat, it is worth breaking up your visits to different temples, over a few days. 🇰🇭

Vietnam Travel & Cruise recently took me on this fun famil to beautiful Cambodia with a great bunch of travel agent colleagues. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but the whole country being so flat - and mostly clean - wasn’t on my radar. Like most of Asia, the Khmer people are friendly, and the local food (besides the creepy crawlies) was delicious. The two main cities, being Phnom Penh & Siem Reap were so completely different. Phnom Penh is like Melbourne’s CBD - a grid pattern with skyscrapers & new buildings going up everywhere whereas Siem Reap reminded me of Hoi An in Vietnam, with low rise colonial buildings, a great feel and pedestrian-only access around the Pub Street precinct at night. You must also visit the Genocide Museum & the Killing Fields, to understand a tragic part of Cambodia’s history, under Pol Pot’s Khmer Rouge regime. And visiting Angkor Wat at sunrise is just breathtaking. My tip will be that Cambodia will be the next big tourist destination in Asia. Watch this space!

Why you still need us travel agents ⬇️

In an age of online booking platforms, price comparison websites and social media travel inspiration, it’s easy to assume travel agents are no longer necessary.
