Some places in the Hunter have a character all their own. šŸŒæšŸ·

Lake’s Folly is one of those places.

The old cellar door, gardens, barrels, vines and those little details you notice when you take the time to look around.

It’s the kind of place that invites you to linger and take in the character that surrounds you.

Sometimes it’s these quieter moments that become part of the Hunter Valley experience.

šŸ· A little more than just a wine tasting.

One of our recent corporate groups enjoyed a wine & chocolate pairing at Hunter Wine Lab, including some time with the winemaker and a look behind the scenes.

These are the experiences I love including in a Hunter Valley itinerary — relaxed, personal and giving guests the opportunity to meet the people behind the wines they’re tasting.

A lovely way to experience the Hunter Valley and something a little different from the usual cellar door visit.

Sara’s Hunter Valley Picks #2 — The Long Lunch šŸ·

Some places are made for lingering a little longer, and Bistro Molines is certainly one of them.

Beautiful food, a glass of wine, the relaxed courtyard and those sweeping views across the Hunter Valley — it’s an easy place to settle in and simply enjoy where you are.

A day in the Hunter doesn’t always need to be filled with stops. Sometimes slowing things down, enjoying a beautiful meal and taking in the surroundings is what makes the day memorable.

Sometimes lunch deserves to be the destination.

šŸ· Just another beautiful day in the Hunter Valley.

Good wine, beautiful places, plenty of food and, most importantly, good company.

From discovering something new at Hunter Wine Lab and enjoying a tasting at Comyns & Co, to an incredible charcuterie spread at Allandale Winery, the unmistakable charm of Lake’s Folly, and plenty of beautiful Hunter Valley scenery in between.

These are the days we love — taking our time, discovering somewhere new and enjoying everything that makes this part of the world so special.

And judging by the back of the bus at the end of the day, there were definitely a few new favourites discovered along the way! šŸ˜‚šŸ·

🌿 Some of the best Hunter Valley memories aren’t made at a cellar door.

Sometimes they’re found on the quiet roads between destinations… where rolling vineyards stretch into the distance, the air feels a little fresher, and life slows down for a while.

These are the moments that remind us why we love the Hunter Valley.

It’s not about rushing from one winery to the next. It’s about taking the scenic route, enjoying the journey, and discovering the beauty that makes the Hunter Valley so special.

Because sometimes, the journey is just as memorable as the destination.

Winter in the Hunter Valley šŸ·šŸ”„

There’s something a little special about the Hunter Valley in winter.

Crisp mornings, quieter cellar doors, a glass of Hunter red, warm fires and plenty of time to slow down and enjoy where you are.

For me, this is one of the loveliest times of year to explore the Valley. The pace feels different, the reds seem to taste even better, and there’s nothing quite like settling in somewhere warm after a day of discovering cellar doors.

The Hunter isn’t just a summer destination — winter has a charm all of its own.

Not a bad waiting room… šŸ¾šŸŒæ

While my guests are inside enjoying their tasting, this is sometimes what my ā€œwaiting roomā€ looks like.

One of the things I love about what I do is spending my days amongst the cellar doors, vineyards and beautiful spaces of the Hunter Valley.

Every venue has its own personality, its own story and something different to experience — and even after all this time, I still love discovering the little moments in between.

Beautifully Curated Hunter Valley Experiences

There is something magical about slowing down in the Hunter Valley.

It’s the rolling vineyards, long lunches that somehow turn into afternoons, beautiful local produce shared around the table and the conversations that make you forget to look at the time.

Chef’s Table was born from a love of sharing the places that have captured my heart over the years. The hidden gems, the local favourites and the moments that simply can’t be found on an itinerary.

I don’t believe the most memorable days are the ones where you rush from place to place. They’re the ones where you feel welcomed, linger a little longer and leave already planning your next visit.

My hope is that every guest leaves feeling as though they’ve experienced the Hunter Valley not as a visitor, but as a local.

Warmly,

Sara x

Come as our guests. Leave feeling like locals.

šŸ· Sara’s Hunter Valley Pick #1

One of my favourite stops in the Hunter Valley is Hunter Belle Cheese. šŸ§€

As a former chef, I’m always drawn to places that celebrate quality local produce, and Hunter Belle never disappoints. From creamy bries to beautifully matured cheddars, there’s something for every cheese lover.

One of my favourite parts of the day is watching guests discover a new favourite cheese to take home!

If you’re planning a visit to the Hunter Valley, this is definitely a stop worth adding to your list.

Now I’d love to know… what’s your favourite cheese? šŸ§€šŸ‘‡
