Istanbul softens into golden haze, storks migrating down the Bosphorus. Edinburgh scatters its cobbled streets with amber leaves, the season for coorie. Boston sets Commonwealth Avenue ablaze with gold and red.

Copenhagen slows into hygge as the air turns crisp. Athens finally becomes properly walkable, ancient sites and backstreets both. Lisbon stretches its warm days into October, vineyards deep into harvest nearby.

My hotel of choice here is the The Newbury Boston which has a long history opening as one of America’s first Ritz-Carlton hotels in 1927 and is now fully restored. Book the Classic Corner Park View Suite for garden views and your own fireplace 🔥

Athens is a seriously underrated city and is worth a few nights in any Greek Island itinerary. Some of the most incredible food, local w**e bars and history around every corner. Some of my favourite hotels are THE DOLLI® at Acropolis Athens Capital Hotel - MGallery Collection and the new Conrad Athens The Ilisian. A walking food tour is a must here!

Scotland is at the top of my bucket list and I think October is the perfect time to explore Scotland with autumn leaves, cosy fires and warming wh**ky 🥃 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 This city has some incredible hotels to choose from. Some of my favourites are Gleneagles Townhouse, 100 Princes Street, The Balmoral and the The Caledonian Edinburgh.

Another destination I’m eager to get to, Copenhagen in autumn offers golden foliage in the King’s Garden and Frederiksberg Gardens. Everything starts to slow down. And where should you stay? Villa Copenhagen is a century-old former postal building next to the Tivoli Gardens or perhaps Nimb Copenhagen or the d'Angleterre, Copenhagen.

Istanbul is a melting pot of cultures and a blend of east and west. The Bosphorus is the place to stay and there is plenty of choice from the The Peninsula Istanbul Four Seasons Hotel Bosphorus and the Mandarin Oriental Bosphorus, Istanbul. Tahiti is one of the destinations that works really well as a cruise experience. I'll always suggest a smaller ship as you can access smaller ports for a more authentic experience.
