Our first National Park certainly didn’t disappoint! YOSEMITE 🐻🪾⛰️

We had two nights nearby, which meant we could spend the FULL day in the Park with our guide Barb.

Two of us had been to Yosemite before but we visited brand new spots that none of us had seen before.

Glacier Point and Tunnel View were simply spectacular. We saw a little water off Bridalfalls, but the main Yosemite Falls has just run dry due to such a hot summer. It didn’t dampen our day though - we were so lucky as it was fairly quiet in the park. Babe took us to Cathedral Beach where we had the most spectacular views for our picnic lunch (we even had a coyote go by!! 😳).

Barb has an avid hiker and climber, who had climbed half dome more than once - so it was great to hear her stories about the park.

We finished up our day seeing a group of climbers at El Capitan almost summit - which was amazing; but we all agree - no thank you! We are happy to keep our feet safely on the ground.

Many more national parks to come! It certainly is the great outdoors!!

Our Indian Pacific + Perth trip has just returned home and seeing these warm, beautiful messages has just put the biggest smile on my face.

Thank you ladies, for trusting in Embark and coming on trips with us. It’s our absolute privilege to share in these experiences with you.

Here’s the thing about Los Angeles - Palm trees really don’t provide any shade at all 😂

While they look fabulous, on our 30degree sunny days in Los Angeles…. It was steamy in the sun ☀️

But the troopers we are, we saw all the things!

We kicked off with Paul in Hollywood as we explored this part of town (and heard so many unique stories we haven’t heard before). We then ventured downtown to the Grand Central Market and heard how this has been affected post covid.

Our second day, we were off to Warner Bros Studios for the TCM tour (the classic movies) to go behind the scenes spots and then to Beverley Hills - for window shopping only 😂

And our third full day was spent at Santa Monica/Venice Beach. As a treat after lunch (not in the brochure - surprise!!) - the ladies had a classic Cadillac pick them up to do some final sights of the city- the Hollywood sign, through the hills and back down Rodeo Drive.

We had some amazing meals / Tao for an Asian fusion in an amazing venue / Kali steakhouse that just retained a Michelin star - and then to even it all up, a pizza party near the pool!

and what better place to be celebrating than on the Indian Pacific as the group has embarked on their adventure!!

Helen you are one in a million and we hope you have a fantastic day (hope you liked the headband we smuggled into the tour in secret 😂🥳)

Ok ladies, excuse the unbrushed hair - but tomorrow I head off on our USA tour and I couldn’t be more excited.

If you don’t know this, for nearly 20 years I’ve been designing our tours. That’s picking the hotels, the restaurants, connecting us with local experiences… and this trip is going to be so much fun.

There is so much more than the written word on our website or flyers. So on this particular trip - I’m going to pull back the curtain. I’m going to share with you WHY I picked certain things, what you can expect on one of tours… and why they are SO MUCH fun (and great value).

Sneak peek! Our brand new welcome bags are here and OHHHHH THEY WERE WORTH THE WAIT 🥰

I couldn’t love them more!
We’ve got two groups leaving this week and they’ll be the first tours to have these waiting for them when they get home (packed with goodies!).

What’s a welcome home bag?
Well quite a few years ago we started including these on your return to Newcastle. We realised that many ladies who travelled with us live alone. So when you come home from a long trip away (and sometimes after a lonnngg flight home), there is nothing worse than thinking ‘I have to go to Woolies to get some milk and bread’.

The fridge is empty, the fruit bowl barren… so our welcome home bag is designed to get you through the first few days. Bread, milk, eggs, biscuits, soup, juice, fruit… and some fun treats thrown in for good measure.

It’s the little things that make the difference 💙

Have you heard of the Barbary?
Sailing on Lake Taupo, this is the yacht Errol Flynn is said to have won in a card game in 1938!

Nowadays, it's a 100% electric, Qualmark Gold certified yacht and it's included on our NORTH ISLAND NEW ZEALAND TOUR IN 2027.

We'll cruise to the iconic 14-metre Ngātoroirangi Māori Rock Carvings, only accessible by water.

Relax on the deck as Barbary takes you right up close for the perfect shot of the 10-metre high rock art of the Māori Carving on the cliff face. Glide across stunning Lake Taupo as you soak up the warming sun or go for a swim before you enjoy free refreshments at the rock carvings.

Is it in your diary? Don't forget our next coffee catch up is coming up on the 15th August, and it's a SATURDAY!

Every so often we change to a weekend catch up, so that those ladies who either work or possibly have committments through the week might be able to come!

As always, it is at Emilio's at the Junction from 10.30am.
Morning Tea treats included, but coffee/tea etc at your own expense.

This is a wonderful, casual social catch up. Chat to other ladies about where they have been or where they are planning to go. Perhaps you might even get inspired to join us on one of next years exciting trips...
