This weekend celebrates the annual International Essential Oils Day. This date was selected in honour of Young Living's Visionary Founder Dr Gary Young, who's birthday is July 11.

The quality of YL essential oils is second to none as the integrity and authenticity is never compromised. Based on the French standard of aromatherapy (not the British), means the plant's essence is not sabotaged through the gathering and manufacturing processes, unlike other less scrupulous companies.

René-Maurice Gattefossé (1881–1950) was a French chemist who coined the term 'aromatherapy' in 1937 after discovering the healing properties of lavender oil on a burn. His work laid the foundation for modern aromatherapy, transitioning essential oils from perfumery to therapeutic applications. As a nurse, I know the first aid recommendation is to never put oil on a burn - but our modern-day medicines have forgotten (or big pharma has forced closed ranks) about essential oils.

It is only with quality essential oils that you will receive the therapeutic benefits. Once I was exposed to these oils, and I felt the vibrational impact on my body, I knew these aligned with my deep calling of rediscovering plant medicine and sharing them with those I cross paths with.

There, perched between the earth and the sky at over 3100m above sea level, Paro Taktshang is more than a destination—it's a reminder that the most extraordinary places require us to rise to meet them.

Hiking to Paro Taktshang felt like travelling inward. Step by step, breath by breath, the trail (to the more commonly known as 'Tiger's Nest') reveals a truth Bhutan knows well: the greatest heights are reached with humility.

What I've experienced thanks to Bhutan is that mountains quiet the mind; and at Paro Taktshang, they open the soul.
