Dunbogan is a blink-and-you'll-miss-it fishing haven, not a speed demon's paradise. With just one road winding its way in and out, it's hardly the place to unleash your inner race car driver.

So, if you're searching for a place to put the pedal to the metal, look elsewhere. The locals have had enough of the noise and the danger. Slow down, take a breath, and remember you're a guest in our little slice of paradise. Let's keep Dunbogan the peaceful escape it's meant to be!

Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a bike/walking access bridge over googlies. Possibly a footpath along the Dunbogan break wall. Better access for fishing and direct access to pilot beach. ☀️

This morning the B2bpathway Committee met with Port Macquarie Hastings Council PD program design manager, Mark Edenborough, to discuss putting a bike rack in place near the Dunbogan Boatshed & Marina . Already we have seen tragedies unfold that will ripple across so many families and so many first responders.

A woman has died after being pulled from the water.

About 2.55pm today (Thursday 1 January 2026), emergency services were called to Dunbogan Beach, Dunbogan, following reports a woman was in trouble in the water.

Officers attached to our Local HWY patrol, Local Doctor, Laurieton Police and Mid North Coast Police District attended and found a 45-year-old woman had been pulled from the water.

She was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, police, surf life savers from North Haven and locals on the scene, however, she could not be revived.

Police have commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

South Beach is unflagged and un patrolled.

If you are looking for somewhere safe to swim it’s best to swim between the flags.
