Did you know there’s a penguin parade in New Zealand?

Yes, New Zealand has penguins—and not just a few! From forested coastlines to rocky bays, these adorable locals waddle their way into travellers’ hearts. Here’s where you can spot them in the wild:

🌊 𝗢𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘂 (𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗜𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱) – Home to both Little Blue Penguins and Yellow-eyed Penguins. Visit the Oamaru Blue Penguin Colony for an unforgettable sunset parade as they return from sea!
🏝️ 𝗢𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗼 𝗣𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝗮 – Spot the rare and shy Hoiho (Yellow-eyed Penguin) along remote beaches and conservation reserves near Dunedin.
🌿 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗜𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 / 𝗥𝗮𝗸𝗶𝘂𝗿𝗮 – Your best bet for seeing Fiordland Crested Penguins and Little Blues in their natural habitat, especially around Ulva Island.
🪨 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗸𝘀 𝗣𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝗮 (𝗻𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗔𝗸𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗮) – Cruise the coastline or take a guided walk to see White-flippered Penguins, a local subspecies of the Little Blue.
🌅 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘀 – Quiet coves and rocky shores often shelter Little Blue Penguins, especially during nesting season.
🚢 𝗙𝗷𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗲𝘀 – Sometimes Fiordland Crested Penguins make surprise appearances in remote corners like Doubtful and Milford Sounds.

Oh no! 😱 Its goodbye 😭

Another cruise company leaving our shores.
