There might not be a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow… but there is a pot of pink!

Another bit of rain through Oodnadatta has given us this pretty spectacular view from the Pink Roadhouse.

There’s potentially more rain on the way, so if you’re travelling through the Outback over the next few days, make sure you keep an eye on the weather forecast and check the latest road reports before setting off.

What a sight seeing the Sh*tbox Rally crews rolling through Oodnadatta and filling up the Pink Roadhouse today!

A huge thanks to everyone who stopped in to fuel up the Sh*tboxes, fuel up yourselves, grab some supplies and say hello on the way through.

Thanks for making the Pink Roadhouse part of the journey and, most importantly, for the incredible effort you’re all putting in to raise money for cancer research.

We’re restocking the car parts & essentials section at the Pink Roadhouse

When you’re travelling through the Outback, sometimes it’s the smallest part or bit of gear that can save a lot of hassle.

So we want to hear from you — what do you find yourself needing most when you’re on the road?

Fuses? Globes? Belts? Hose clamps? Oils? Electrical bits? Tyre repair gear? Something else we should always have on the shelf?

The roads are open again!

After the rain, a bit of sunshine and plenty of wind have done their job and dried the roads out nicely — and just in time for around 100 riders from BMW Safari to come through Oodnadatta today.

It was great to see such a big group rolling into town and stopping in at the Pink Roadhouse.

A huge thanks to everyone from BMW Safari for calling in, supporting us and making Oodnadatta part of the journey.

You don’t need to own a 4WD to explore the Outback — you can hire one and head off on your own adventure! 🚙

This Complete 4WD vehicle stopped in at the Pink Roadhouse after getting a proper taste of the Outback tracks.

From personal experience, Rob and the team at Complete Ute and van Hire genuinely go above and beyond for their customers. They’re well worth speaking to if you’re planning an Outback trip but don’t have a suitable vehicle of your own.

The Outback is putting on a spectacular show this year

Rain across the region has brought the country to life, with wildflowers, green growth and splashes of colour appearing throughout the Outback.

Here are a few wildflowers photographed around Oodnadatta. It is a special time to be travelling through and seeing the desert looking so vibrant.

🌿 A full desert crossing is now available! 🌼

The water level in Eyre Creek has lowered, allowing the Queensland side of the desert to reopen and making a full crossing possible once again.

After the huge amount of rain, the desert has come alive. The landscape is incredibly green, wildflowers are appearing, and the country is looking absolutely spectacular.

This is a rare opportunity to experience the desert as you’ve never seen it before. Pack the car, hit the road and come explore while the conditions are this special!

Quick update for everyone: The roads are shut after 13mm of rain dropped on us yesterday.

The good news? The sun is back out already, and working on drying the roads. Keep an eye on local road condition reports before you head out:
