It’s international elephant day! 🐘🐘🐘

We loved watching the elephants on safari in Kenya and Botswana.

We also loved our visit to Reteti elephant sanctuary. A wonderful community led initiative which benefits not only the elephants but the community.

I just read this book while on a flight to Thailand. I could not put it down and was finished by the time I arrived.

Such a great read. Had me guessing!

Have you read any good books recently! I’d love a recommendation!

What’s your favourite souvenir?

I seem to be addicted to these baskets! They can be found everywhere in Asia and somehow they find me! Latest 2 purchases from Thailand are heading home with me! 🤣

I’m also a little partial to zip bags and anything handmade or embroidered. 🤦‍♀️

Here’s a few of our textile experiences on tours. We love visiting artisans, shopping and supporting local people.

Many of these traditional crafts won’t be around in 5 or more years as the younger generations are not interested.

Here’s our 2027 tours with Australian textile artisans joining:

🧵Sri Lanka with Anna Scott -
May 2027

🧵 Escape to the Maldives with Rachael Daisy - June 2027

🧵 Bali retreat with Wendy Williams - August 2027

It was not planned but I spent world embroidery day catching up with the textile loving travellers and visiting an exhibition by Natalie Fisher.

She has produced 2 books featuring Islam tiles in needlepoint. This was my first time to see her work in person. I particularly loved the embroidery on photos.

Of course I shopped for new threads and joined the NSW embroidery guild. Great day! 🧵🪡

Think creativity, wine, good food and of course a chance to meet some of the lovely people you have met on tour.

I’m currently looking at dates in 2027. Let me know what you think!
