On the edge of Tarrytown I walk towards a burning haze. Hollow pumpkin’s flood the forest in one of the largest displays, the 'Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze'. Sculptures, creatures and tunnels of lights snake through the dark forest forming a fiery fairytale Maze. Happy Halloween!!!

I am no longer dreaming. I am walking in the footsteps of my vision and ambition. I'm intoxicated by the iridescent curtains of light dancing around me. Bands stretch across the sky, leading into spirals that grow and evanesce. I do not cry but laugh in the overwhelming enjoyment of the greatest show on earth, the Aurora.

Mexico, Day of the Dead. I am captured by the scenes around me of laughter, painted faces, festive music and skeletal sculptures. All through this I could feel a sense of sadness and grief which was coming from the locals. Walking through a decorated graveyard it became more obvious and quiet around the mourners of lost family members from the recent earthquakes, as they tended the fresh graves. It’s quite an inspiring celebration, a day of passion and misery.

A flash back to the beginning: I hear the wild calling......

At the end of high school, I ventured to Germany to experience the south of Bavaria. The chill of the frosted air crept up my back like spiders. I looked out into the frozen forest and saw nothing but the unexplored freedom of my future in the wild. I took a deep breath and my lungs filled with icy air. I heard the wild calling me. It was my time, to live my life, on my terms. It began.
