I recently stayed at QT Sydney and it's easily one of my favourites in the city.

A lot of it comes down to the building. It's tucked inside the old Gowings department store and the State Theatre, so you get all this art deco character and a real sense of history, the kind you just don't find in a newer hotel. It feels like somewhere, rather than anywhere.

The rest is the little things. Warm service, a room I was in no hurry to leave, and pretty much everything you'd want a few minutes' walk from the door.

It's the perfect stay for a couple looking for a city weekend, or anyone adding a night or two onto a bigger trip through Sydney.

If a stay like this is on your radar for 2026 or 2027, I'd love to help you plan it.

The clients who stay with me for years are the ones I treasure most. Kris is one of them, and reviews like this make it all worthwhile.

"Tash has been our travel agent for many years, she always finds the perfect itinerary to suit our travel plans, listening to our needs, giving us suggestions and options to choose from. Highly recommend Tash to book your perfect holiday destination."

This is the part of the job I love. Listening first, then shaping a trip around the way you actually like to travel. No two families are the same, so no two itineraries should be either.

If you'd like someone in your corner for the next one, I'd love to help.

After an unforgettable night in our safari-style tent at Taronga Zoo being woken by roaring lions at 3am, it was time for the second part of our Roar and Snore experience.

We headed back to see the Sumatran tigers in the daylight - their enclosure is incredible, it's designed as an emersive sumatran village complete with fake shop fronts, street vendors and mechanic workshop.

Then it was off to a behind-the-scenes experience where we got to see the rhino and his keeper. It was so fantastic getting to hear from the people who actually care for these beautiful animals.

After a wander around to see some of the other animals, we were provided with a hot buffet breakfast before our final experience at the Taronga Institute of Science and Learning, where we got to see the cute little cotton-top tamarins along-side some other animals in the rainforest classroom.

At 9.30am our Roar and Snore experience came to an end, just before the zoo opened to the public for the day.

One tip I would give, is to leave the rest of that day free. Your experience includes zoo entry for the day so you can stay as long as you like, and there is just so much to see.

What surprised me was how broard the appeal was for this experience - in our group we had older couples, younger couples, families with little kids and families with teenagers.

This was an absoloutely incredible experience that isn't just about sleeping at the zoo and seeing the animals after dark, but also learning about the amazing conservation, breeding, research and education happening at Taronga.

If you're heading to Sydney and want to do something a little bit different, put this one on your list!

Some resorts try to be everything to everyone and end up feeling a bit thin. Bali Mandira does the opposite. It knows exactly who it's for.

This one is for families who are done compromising. The kids want water slides and a pool they never want to get out of. You want somewhere to sit with a cold drink and hear yourself think. Here you both get it.

There are lagoon pools with two slides, a sandy beach-entry section made for smaller kids, and a kids club for when they're ready for a change of scene. Then, up at the beach club, there's an adults-only rooftop infinity pool looking straight out over the ocean. Everyone gets their own corner of the same holiday.

It sits right on Legian Beach, so sunset walks are out the front door. And when you feel like leaving the resort, the shopping, restaurants and beach clubs of Legian and Seminyak are a short stroll away. Self-contained when you want it, in the thick of things when you don't.

I'd put this one forward for families who want everyone happy without running three different holidays at once. Parents included.

If that sounds like your kind of trip, I'd love to help you plan it.

Not every adventure needs a long haul flight.

This one was a night away with my daughter, sleeping in a safari-style tent at Taronga Zoo - and I can't recommend it enough.

We had the most fantastic time, getting to experience the zoo after dark and see what the animals get up to after everyone else has gone home.

Being woken by the lions roaring at 3am is something I'll never forget! Absolutely amazing.

Our visit included comfortable overnight accommodation, gourmet meals for dinner and the following morning's breakfast. Guide led tours when the zoo is closed to the public, intimate animal encounters and even full day zoo admission the following day.

Follow along for part 2.

I still can't quite believe I get to plan trips like this one.

I've just booked this incredible trip for some of my long-term clients, and to help them tick off something this big feels so special.

This is one for the travellers who've been almost everywhere and want something truly special next. Two bucket-list destinations in one unforgettable journey, with every last detail taken care of.

It's a Scenic journey, 38 days from the very bottom of Africa all the way up to the pyramids. Safari through the Serengeti, the Masai Mara and Ngorongoro Crater, the sheer scale of Victoria Falls, then the wonders of Egypt and a private Nile cruise to finish.

A few of the things that make it so good:

⭐ Fully escorted smaller group luxury journeys for up to 24 guests.
⭐ Twelve Freechoice excursions – a choice of included activities to personalise your journey.
⭐ Six Scenic Enrich events - exclusive once-in-a-lifetime experiences.
⭐ Handpicked expert Tour Directors and safari guides.
⭐ All internal flights.
⭐ Scenic Special Stays all the way through, from Cape Town to Aswan.
⭐ Private concession game drives in open-top safari vehicles.
⭐ A private charter cruise down the Nile.
⭐ Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with lunch and dinner on your Nile Cruise.

The 2027 dates are still open, so if a trip like this has always sat quietly on your bucket list, now's a lovely time to start dreaming it up.

Booking the trip is the easy part.

What actually matters is the person on the other end when something shifts. The flight cancelled the night before you fly. The hotel that's suddenly overbooked. The tight connection you'd only have discovered was impossible while standing at the airport.

That's the part I quietly love. Not because things go wrong often, they don't, but because when they do, you've got someone who knows your trip inside out and can sort it while you're still working out what's happening.

Twenty-four years on, and it's the reason my clients come back trip after trip. They know I'm in their corner when it counts.

If that's the kind of support you'd want on your next holiday, I'd love to help.

Planning a trip should be the exciting part, not another job on your list.

That's where I come in. I plan holidays for people who'd rather look forward to the trip than spend months organising it. Unique experiences, family travel and active escapes are my thing, across Europe, Asia and beyond, and I've been lucky enough to visit many of the places I book. So when I recommend somewhere, it's because I've been there, not because a brochure told me to.

My favourite part is taking the whole thing off your plate. The route, the flights, the little details that make a holiday actually feel like one. You tell me how you like to travel, and I sort the rest.

If that sounds like the kind of help you've been after, I'd love to hear from you.

Hi there! I'm Tash.

If we haven't met yet, let me tell you a bit more about myself.

Travel has taken me a long way over the years, from backpacking across Canada to living and working my way through Spain, France, Italy and the UK in my younger days. These days I know places like Malaysia, Vietnam, Croatia, USA and Canada well, and I've learned that I'm a city person at heart. Give me somewhere with a bit of buzz over a quiet stretch of sand any day.

There's still so much I want to see too. Japan is calling, and there's a rail journey through Vietnam with my husband on the horizon that I can't wait for.

I think that's the thing about this job. I'm still as curious about the world as I was at the start, and I get to pour all of it into planning trips for you. Outside of work you'll usually find me with my two girls, at crossfit, or somewhere with live music and good company.

If there's a trip on your mind, I'd love to help you shape it.
