NAIDOC Week 2025 | 6–13 July

This week, we proudly acknowledge NAIDOC Week, a time to recognise and honour the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This year’s theme celebrates not only the achievements of the past but the bright future ahead, empowered by the strength of our young leaders, the vision of our communities, and the legacy of First Nation ancestors.

Our teams are celebrating and respecting NAIDOC week in some great ways across our sites - from a cultural morning at Kensington, to children's activities at our Child and Parent and Early Learning Centres. Stay tuned for updates.

Raising Mentally Healthy Children - Port Hedland and Claremont! πŸ§ πŸŽ¨πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘§

A big thank you to all the families who joined us on the weekend for a day of connection, creativity, and play-based learning. From our interactive sessions for little ones and β€˜Superheroes and Super Dads’ art session at Claremont, to our psychologist-led play sessions in Port Hedland, it was a wonderful celebration of parenting and mental wellbeing.

Throughout the day, our Ngala professionals were on hand to chat with parents about everything from newborn sleep and settling to helping pre-teens adjust to school. These one-on-one moments are what Ngala is all about: supporting families at every stage.

Thanks again to everyone who came along and made the events so special. If you missed out, don’t worry – we’ve got more events coming soon, including in other metro and regional locations across WA! πŸ’œ

πŸŒœπŸ›οΈ Is it time for your toddler to move into a big bed? πŸ›οΈπŸŒ›

The transition from cot to bed is a big step for your child and for you. Whether your toddler is climbing out of their cot, a new baby is on the way, or you’re travelling soon, there are many reasons families make the move.

But with this new independence comes new bedtime challenges, like wandering at night, resisting sleep, or struggling to settle.

Our online parenting resource covers:
πŸ’œ When and why to make the move
πŸ’œ How to prepare your toddler emotionally and physically
πŸ’œ Safety-proofing the bedroom
πŸ’œ Gentle strategies for resettling and boundary setting
πŸ’œ What to do when your child keeps getting out of bed

πŸ”— Read the full resource here: www.ngala.com.au/resources/moving-into-a-bed/

Remember, you're not alone. If bedtime battles are overwhelming, our Parenting Line team is here to help. Call us on 9368 9368 for support.
