In this review I will cover everything that you can expect to experience from the onboard service, catering and in flight entrainment on what quite literally could be argued is the most ridiculous and unnecessary of Qantas flights yet at same time may serve more utility and purpose than you might think!

As it's a special inaugural flight occasion I also cover all the pre and post flight festivities and speeches and show the aircraft's inbound departure back towards Perth!

Join Aussie JetSetter as he reviews Fiji Airways for the very first time on a recent flight in economy class between San Francisco and Nadi on the national carrier's ageing Airbus A330-200 aircraft.

During this review I put the national carrier of Fiji to the ultimate test to see whether their Airbus A330-200 is up to the challenge of operating the airline's longest flight between Northern California and Fiji with everything from the ground handling, on board crew and service, in flight entertainment, catering and seating up for assessment!

In the review I also assess the perceived affordability of Fiji Airways as the main alternative indirect operator of flights between North America and Australia / New Zealand and whether I think they are a worthy choice for significant cost saving in return for extra travel and transit time.

As an added bonus I also review the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse Lounge at San Francisco International Airport prior to departure!

Join Aussie JetSetter as he reviews Indonesia Air Asia's recently relaunched 3 times weekly Airbus A320 service between Denpasar and Australia's Northern Territory Capital of Darwin which has not been operated by this airline since 2018 and now also puts it in direct competition with the only other operator on the route which is Jetstar.

In this review I put Indonesia Air Asia to the ultimate test on their shortest flight between Indonesia and Australia by seeing what a bargain basement airfare between Indonesia and Australia gets you whereby I scrutinise everything from the on on-board service, pre ordered meals, entertainment (or lack thereof), seating, crew, ground handling and more!

Through my assessment of the onboard Air Asia experience I also help you form your own opinion in assessing whether Air Asia really are deserving of the controversial Skytrax World's Low Cost Carrier Award now for a 16th consecutive year!

Join Aussie JetSetter as he reviews a recent flight between Perth and Denpasar - Bali on Jetstar's relatively new Airbus A321Neo aircraft. During this 3.5 hour flight I put the most prolific operator of flights between Australia and Bali to the ultimate test to get to the bottom of whether Jetstar really deserves such a bad reputation from these flights. Aside from this I also thoroughly assess the onboard a321neo experience looking at everything from the onboard seating, service, food, IFE and also the pros and cons of sitting at Jetstar's most spacious seat that is 29a!

I also offer my thoughts on the overall value of Jetstar on these flights and how they might compare in this regard to there Indonesian competitors. As an added bonus I also check out the Aspire International Lounge at Perth Airport prior to the flight! At the end of the review I also conduct an impromptu Jetstar 'Pub Test' with fellow travelling companions to gauge an overall collective assessment of what the flight was really like.

Join Aussie JetSetter as he reviews Virgin Australia's relatively infrequent and little heard about seasonal summertime direct service between Perth and Launceston, Tasmania operated by its smaller Boeing 737-700 aircraft which is just one of nine in the airline's fleet of mainly Boeing 737-800 aircraft!

In this unexpected part two of my recent journey between Perth and Launceston due to our original flight having to turn back to Perth due to radio control issues I examine how Virgin Australia dealt with this most unexpected of contigencies which required the organisation of a replacement aircraft and crew to fly us to Tasmania.

During the flight Itself I showcase what you can expect in business class on one of Virgin Australia's relatively few and recently retrofitted (with business class) ex KLM Boeing 737-700 aircraft. I assess everything from the ground experience in Perth, to the onboard leather recliner seating and the onboard food and beverage service and whether this replacement aircraft service had a detrimental impact on the overall business class experience.

Be sure to also watch part 1 of the journey to Launceston as we encounter a 2 hour 'flight to nowhere' in business class that ultimately had to return to Perth due to radio control issues!

Join Aussie JetSetter for the most unusual of flights as he embarks on one of Virgin Australia's most unusual routes that being the seasonal summertime service between Perth and Launceston, Tasmania.

In this review I showcase what you can expect in business class on one of Virgin Australia's relatively few Boeing 737-700 aircraft dating back to its predecessor Virgin Blue era! I assess everything from the ground experience in Perth, to the onboard leather recliner seating and the onboard food and beverage service.

About an hour into the flight we however unfortunately encounter an issue with the flight deck being unable to establish all the HF frequencies needed to venture so far south off the Australian mainland as we were about to leave Western Australia behind. This therefore required the pilots to turn the plane back to Perth and enter a holding pattern and drop the plane's landing gear to burn off extra fuel before returning to Perth!

Given this unexpected diversion back to Perth I also give my thoughts on how the airline handled this most unusual of contingencies and how they did in organising a replacement flight to get us eventually to Launceston!

As an added bonus I also check out the Virgin Australia lounge in Perth before the flight offering my thoughts on what you can expect with its Perth Lounge in terms of food, amenities and service.

Join Aussie JetSetter as he puts America's fourth largest (and biggest low cost carrier) Southwest Airlines to the ultimate test on a recent flight on one of its longest routes between Honolulu, Hawaii and San Diego, California.

In the review I assess Southwest's onboard experience from the complimentary drinks and snacks, in flight entertainment, crew and what you can expect on board with the relatively new Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft.

I also take you through what you can expect with SouthWest's infamous unassigned boarding process showing you what the experience is like coming from a reasonably good but certainly not best boarding position of A-38!

I also assess the wider assertion that Southwest Airlines is America's best value low cost carrier and whether Southwest's unassigned boarding process and simplified operational procedures may actually be the key to the airline's ability to operate efficiently whilst delivering value for customers at the same time.

I also look at how unassigned seating may actually be Southwest's biggest money spinner bringing a healthy stream of revenue to the airline through all its ancillary products based around elevated boarding positions!

Join Aussie JetSetter as he reviews Australia's largest independent regional airline and world's largest operator of the SAAB 340 aircraft on a recent flight in Western Australia between it's state capital of Perth and the beautiful south coast regional city of Albany!

As an airline which collapsed and was placed into voluntary adminstration mid last year brought on by its underperforming short lived foray into the intercity capital city jet market the airline currently faces an uncertain future faced with crippling debt. Yet with its vast regional network which provides critical air links throughout regional and remote Australia many stakeholders such as the Australian Government consider this airline too important to fail and have even mooted the possibility of buying the airline if no buyer can be found.
