Cruising the Kimberley has been top of my list for a while now, and the opportunity to do it in style with Pearl Expeditions arose recently… a massive YES! Absolutely!

Ten nights, one incredible coastline. I sailed with Pearl Expeditions on their Timeless Kimberley itinerary, from Kununurra/Wyndham all the way to Broome, and I’m still not over it.

My highlight? Waking before dawn to watch the tides do their thing at Montgomery Reef - hundreds of waterfalls appearing out of nowhere as the reef rises from the sea. Nothing prepares you for it.

This wasn’t a “tick the box” cruise. Ancient gorges, ochre cliffs, remote lands, and a crew who know this coastline like family - it’s the kind of trip that stays with you long after you’re home.

My go-to comment on Bali is that it’s a destination of multiplicity - it’s not one experience. You can find the vibe you’re looking for, from family time to party time, from wellness to adventure, from isolation to the whirl of humanity. This was proven to me again with a recent stopover; I wanted quiet and calm before a big 2 weeks of socialising for work, and I’m so grateful to have found it at Lost Lindenberg.
