Step back in time on Japan’s Nakasendo ‘Samurai’ Trail, once travelled by samurai journeying between Edo (modern-day Tokyo) and Kyoto during the Edo period. Through the heart of the Kiso Valley, the trail winds between beautifully preserved post towns, peaceful cedar forests, mountain streams and quiet villages that feel worlds away from modern Japan.
