Playground spotlight on Champion Lakes 😀👣🛝

With a 5km pathway looping around the lake, sandy beaches, playgrounds and plenty of room to roam, Champion Lakes is the perfect spot for a winter family adventure.

Kids will love the two playgrounds, complete with slides, swings and boats to explore, while the sandy beaches are perfect for buckets, spades and castle-building. And for the brave among us, there's always the option of a quick paddle 🤪

Pack the bikes, scooters, dog lead and a picnic (and maybe a spare change of clothes for the kids 😉)

Up for a winter walk challenge? 💪🍃

Cooler days and crisp mornings provide the perfect time to tackle the rugged beauty of Wungong Gorge. This stunning trail follows Wungong Brook through dramatic granite outcrops, giant boulders and beautiful valley scenery that makes every uphill climb worth it 👣

The full walk stretches over 11km and is ideal for experienced hikers, but shorter sections of the trail can still give you a taste of the landscape without committing to the full distance 🍃

Winter Trail Spotlight ❄️🍃 Forrestdale Lake 🦆

This beautiful spot feels peaceful in every season, but there’s something extra special about a crisp winter stroll surrounded by birdlife, fresh air and winter wetlands.

The easy 6km circuit trail is mostly level and perfect for a relaxed wander, bring your binoculars for bird watching or simply a hot coffee for the walk. A large section of the trail is also accessible for wheelchairs and prams, making it a great option for all ages and abilities 🦽

Did you know? Forrestdale Lake is recognised as a wetland of international significance under the Ramsar Convention, with migratory birds travelling from as far away as Siberia stopping here each year 🤗🐦‍⬛

🚣 Did you know Champion Lakes Regatta Centre right here in Champion Lakes is home to some of Australia's most exciting rowing championships?

This month it's hosting the 2026 Australian Masters Rowing Championships from 27 – 30 May – four days of high energy racing, teamwork and adrenaline as Australia's most passionate and experienced rowers take to the water 🌿

The atmosphere on the water and onshore is something to see – and it's completely free to come down and watch! On site food trucks and stallholders will also be there to keep you fuelled up throughout the day 🧁
