Guide to taking a fast ferry from Bali's Sanur → Nusa Penida
🌴🌴🏖️Paradise island💃💃💃
✅✅1) Meet at a supermarket for shuttle pickup
🚣♀️Most boat companies, but not all offer a shuttle service from Kuta, Seminyak, Canggu, and Ubud, check before booking if this is the option you want.
🚣Meeting points are usually parking areas or in front of large supermarkets or mini-marts near your stay so the van can stop easily.
🚣♂️ Arrive 10–15 minutes early, have your booking code, small change, and water ready. Bring light, compact hand luggage.
✅✅2) How to book boat tickets
☂️Choose a fast boat from Sanur Pier (most common) to Nusa Penida: Toya Pakeh, Banjar Nyuh, or Sampalan.
☂️ Book online in advance to secure seats, and add shuttle pickup if needed. Confirm departure time, departure/arrival piers, and change policies.
Driver usually call via Whatsapp to confirm meeting point.
☂️ Note extra fees for bulky luggage. Round-trip tickets are often cheaper than two one-ways.
✅✅3) Process at Sanur Pier
⛱️ Check in at your boat company’s counter and collect your boarding pass.
⛱️ Wait until the boarding time shown on your ticket, and follow the group indicated by the colored card provided by the service.
⛱️ After confirming the exact boarding time and how early to be present, you can stroll around or enjoy nearby spots. The receptionist told me: be on time and no queuing is needed.
✅✅4) Travel time
⏰Fast boat: about 30–45 minutes.
You will need to pay a tourist tax when you arrive on the island, 25000 per adult, 15000 per child.
✅✅5) Taxi tips from the pier to your hotel (in Penida)
🚕🚕 There are no Ride-hailing apps services on Nusa Penida. Best options:
🚕🚕 Ask your hotel to arrange a pickup based on your boat’s arrival time.
🚕🚕 Boat staff may also offer taxi quotes; you can book with them for convenience, or after the pier there are many taxis with much more competitive prices.
🏍️🏍️If traveling solo and you enjoy the open air, you can negotiate and choose a motorbike ride to your hotel.
🏍️🏍️During your days on the island, if you want flexibility, rent a motorbike. There are several rental services along the coastal road, or small desks near restaurants and hotels.
Wishing you a safe, smooth crossing to Nusa Penida with plenty of beautiful moments!
