It's Boab O'clock! Here some of our favourite Kimberley locals at Digger's Rest station.
Boab trees are living prehistoric monuments, with their massive, swollen trunks and gnarly branches that look like roots reaching for the sky. In folklore they are sometimes called "upside-down trees"!
Their flowers are short lived but have the most beautiful scent. If you join a trip with us in May you might be lucky enough to find a boab still in flower as we travel around - you'll smell the lovely scent before you see the flower.
Boabs can live for over 1,500 years. No two are shaped the same; some are stout and whimsical like our favouriteTea kettle boab, while others are majestic and haunting, but all of them are iconic symbols of the rugged, untamed Kimberley.
