Bathers and sunscreen on WA Adventurers! ๐Ÿ˜Ž Saturday 14 November we're heading out to explore the Shoalwater Islands Marine Park by kayak!

We'll be paddling to Penguin Island and Seal Island, keeping an eye out for sea lions, dolphins and other marine life. We'll stop to stretch our legs and enjoy a picnic brunch on the sand at Penguin Island and learn a little about the wildlife that calls it home.

It's a big day out on the water, but suitable for beginners and experienced paddlers alike. We'll use stable double sea kayaks, so you'll have the company of a boat-buddy and the support of an experienced kayaking guide and AW Tour Leader all the way.

Get ready QLD Adventurers, we've chartered a whole catamaran for this day trip! โ›ต

Join us on Saturday 28 November for a fantastic day out on Moreton Bay, cruising to Peel Island in style.

You can swim, keep an eye out for dolphins, try the boom net, have a go on the stand-up paddleboard, or simply enjoy the view from on deck.

Did you know?

Four years. That's roughly how long it takes before a golden eagle and her berkutchi (Kyrgyzstani falconer) trust each other enough to hunt together. And female eagles are chosen as they are larger and stronger than males.

In Kyrgyzstan the skill is passed through the family, one generation to the next, and came close to vanishing during Soviet rule. Today only a small number of hunters around Issyk-Kul remain.

On our Kyrgyzstan tour you'll spend a morning on the Jaychi pastures with one, learning how the birds are chosen, raised and flown.

Our final on-the-road update from the NT with AWโ€™s Lyn๐Ÿฅพ

We were up before the birds on day six for our sunrise cruise up Katherine Gorge. A serene way to start the day, and our local Indigenous guide was a wealth of information.

During the day we explored the Katherine Hot Springs, took a walk through the Adelaide River War Memorial, and made camp at a campground complete with a bar and live music. We even had the chance to have a Children's Python wrapped around our necks for a while.

Our final day was a day of waterholes. Each one was different, but all of them an oasis of cool and green. We also visited the otherworldly magnetic and cathedral termite mounds in Litchfield National Park before heading back to Darwin.

This is an adventurous trip, not a week in the lap of luxury. Campsites can be basic and some of the walks were steep, rocky and hard work, but every one of our Adventurers took it in their stride. Congratulations, all of you. I know you'll be taking a little bit of that NT magic home with you โœจ

Latest update from the Top End with AWโ€™s Lyn ๐Ÿงก

Our first stop today was the Warradjan Cultural Centre, a large and impressive display of the stories of land, culture and art of the Traditional Owners.

After a relaxing lunch in the shade of an enormous banyan tree we hit the road again and headed for our camping spot at Gunlom Falls. First task was setting up our tents, then we took on the hike to the upper pool. The cool clear water was very welcome, and the natural infinity pool was the perfect place to sit and look out over the landscape far below. We climbed out just in time to watch the orange sunset, and fell asleep back at camp looking up at a full moon through the tree canopy from our mesh tents. A perfect end to a perfect day.

The next day we said goodbye to Kakadu and headed to Edith Falls in Nitmiluk National Park. Some of us swam against the strong flow of the waterfall to get in behind the wall of water, then used the current to gently float back to the other end of the waterhole.

The afternoon was spent at the Katherine Outback Experience. Our hands-on workshop gave everyone the chance to get up close and handle the horses, and to have a go at training a working dog.

Tour Leader Anna is back from Sunday's Mount Mambup Loop, out of Bells Rapids and up into Walyunga National Park. Over to her โ›ฐ๏ธ

โ€œWhat a lovely way to spend a Sunday morning! This challenging walk started from Bells Rapids as we hugged alongside the Swan River following the Pilgrim's Track until we entered Walyunga National Park.

It was serene and tranquil as we felt we had the place to ourselves. The climb up to the ridge was hard but well worth it for the views across the Avon Valley and the Perth Coastal Plain. We were treated to a variety of wildflowers and it felt like Spring is in the air.

We then traversed along the flat ridge to the top at Mt. Mambup where we then slowly descended into the Avon Valley again, looping back to Bells Rapids.

Once we returned the food trucks provided us with coffees or a well earned ice cream!โ€

We're in the Top End right now! Here's the latest from the road with AW's Lyn๐ŸŠ

We met up in Darwin for an evening meal, then headed out to start our Top End adventure! First stop was Fogg Dam, a failed rice-growing venture that has since become a lush conservation area, teeming with birdlife and wallabies. We spotted our first crocodile there.

We stopped for photos at the entrance to Kakadu National Park, cruised through Jabiru, marvelled at the ingeniously designed Croc Hotel, then boarded a river cruise on the East Alligator River.

Our local guide was a fountain of information about Indigenous culture and traditions, the river, its trees and its wildlife, and he pointed out a 4.5m monster of a croc. He was genuinely thrilled to give us our first chance to set foot on Arnhem Land.

Our last stop was the Manbiyarra gallery, an opportunity to look at and buy beautiful local artwork, before heading to our accommodation for a barbecue and a chance to sit back and reflect on the day.

Next up was a full day at rock art sites across both Kakadu and Arnhem Land. The permit-only site high in the escarpment in Arnhem Land was the standout, with views out over the wetland far below.

We finished the day by climbing to the top of Ubirr, setting out a platter of savouries and watching the sun go down.

Some of the trails were hard work, but every one of our Adventurous Women rose to the challenge. Well done, all of you!
