Zildjian Co. was founded in 1623 by Avedis Zildjian in what is now Istanbul. The founder is credited with formulating an alloy of copper, tin and silver that made fine cymbals. The company still uses the secret formula today and is still run by the Zildjian family. The first American factory opened in 1927, and since then, they’ve remained one of the leading cymbal manufacturers in the music community. All Zildjian instruments are made in the USA at their cymbal factory in Norwell, MA. Members of the Zildjian family are buried on Dogwood Path.

On this day 110 years ago the Royal Australian Navy was granted its current title.

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission commemorate more than 2,500 Australian Navy servicemen in cemeteries and on memorials around the world. Those buried in a cemetery carry this badge upon their headstone.
