Tropical Cyclone Alfred is currently predicted to pass over our island at round 10pm on Thursday evening.

The forecast path shown below is the Bureau's best estimate of the cyclone's future movement and intensity. There is always some uncertainty associated with tropical cyclone forecasting and the grey zone indicates the range of likely tracks of the cyclone centre.

Due to the uncertainty in the future movement, the indicated winds will almost certainly extend to regions outside the rings on this map. The extent of the warning and watch zones reflects this.

PLEASE NOTE, Sealink Ferries important up date.

Hi , if you are around the South East Queensland area, you will already know that there is a Tropical Cyclone warning for the area.

As of 10am this morning, Cyclone Alfred is predicted to make land fall on Thursday March 6, passing virtually straight over Point Lookout.

Disaster Management Authorites are saying that car ferries will be stopped at some point in the next 48 hours, so those intending to leave should leave ASAP.

Obviously, there is no indication of when the ferries will start again.

To that end we are posponing any bookings due to arrive between today (March 3) and Monday, March 10.

Our Guest Services team are contacting everyone affected by phone today.

If you are one of those bookings, please be patient, and wait for us to contact you to discuss the options available to you.

Thanks and stay safe!
