In May, the Wadlata Outback Centre played host to the 2026 SA VIS Network Conference welcoming 45 delegates from across the state to Port Augusta.

The 3-day program was jam packed with networking opportunities and provided visitor information centres with valuable tips and insights around marketing and engagement.

A range of guest speakers shared their knowledge with attendees including the South Australian Tourism Commission, the Friends of the Australian Arid Lands Botanic Garden and Tourism RDA Far North.

The conference brought valuable exposure to our local and surrounding tourist attractions, accommodation providers and cafes/restaurants.

Thank you to the South Australian Tourism Commission, Tourism Industry Council South Australia and Flinders Ranges Council for making this possible.

🎟️ FREE Tunnel of Time Tickets This June Long Weekend! 🎟️

We're giving away 100 FREE entry tickets to the Tunnel of Time at Wadlata over the June Long Weekend.

Ticket collection starts from Saturday 6 June at the Wadlata Outback Centre.

Free tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis to visitors attending over the weekend.

Once all 100 free tickets have been claimed, an update will be posted on Wadlata's page.

Don't miss your chance to step back in time and explore one of Port Augusta's most iconic attractions!

📣 Updated Opening Hours – Please Help Us Spread the Word

We’d like to let everyone know about a few changes to our opening hours at the Australian Arid Lands Botanic Garden and Wadlata Outback Centre.

☕🛍️ Arid Lands Café & Gift Shop will now close at 4:00pm daily all year round. Whether you’re stopping in for a coffee, lunch, a sweet treat or a browse through our gift shop, we’d love to see you before closing time.

🍽️ Wadlata Outback Centre Café will no longer be open on weekends and will operate on weekdays only. The VIC and the Tunnel of Time will remain open as normal.

We appreciate everyone’s ongoing support and kindly ask our local community to help spread the word by sharing this post or letting family and friends know.
