That’s a wrap. 2025 Marlin season done and dusted. To be joined by Akira’s owner Darren and Nicole for the last 4 1/2 days made it even more special.
10 from 17 with 2 fish in the 950lb category plus 2 500lb models thrown in to.
Darren and Nicole, joined by family and friends fished almost 4 weeks during the season releasing 59 Marlin, Nicole herself releasing 18.
All the hard work and big $$$ spent on Akira during the year makes it all worth it with results like these.
Will be posting a full season wrap up report soon.

Well after what we will call a frustrating day yesterday going 1 from 7, today we only had the one bite but what a bite it was!
Waited all day for this girl est 950+.
Pic doesn’t do the fish justice as she never jumped however it was a nice big fish.
Congrats Nicole ( Akira’s owner ) on your PB Marlin. 💪

2 from 3 on small ones today after a couple days back on land.

4 from 6 yesterday with 2 fish in the 800+ category. A double header late made it interesting with the big fish emptying half the spool while we caught the smaller one est 400lb. Though it wasn’t all about the Marlin as these yellow fin kept us busy most of the day.
Another day to remember 👌

This was a nice fish we caught over a week ago now. We hooked the fish just before 6pm as we were about to pull lines in and knowing if it were a stubborn fish we would potentially be fighting it into the dark. As it happens we didn’t release it until 7pm.
The fish wouldn’t come up until we applied maximum drag (30kg) and as you see from the short video she raced up to the surface and grey hounded across the top in a series of big jumps.
It just shows how strong and tough these things are! To pull that much drag, still at sunset, like it didn’t even know it was hooked is truly impressive.

What a ripper trip finishing up with 29 Marlin in 9 days. ( 1025,950,950,900,900,850,800,750,750,700,700 ) That’s 11 over 700lbs with a few midranges as well.
Doesn’t get much better than that. The reef this year producing some of the best fishing for quite some years.
Great to have Akira’s owners on for some seriously 🔥 fishing
