The fishing has been red hot, with plenty of quality King George Whiting hitting the deck and some great-sized snook keeping everyone entertained. The cooler months continue to produce the goods, and the fish are definitely on the chew!

The winter whiting were on the chew and the crew had no worries bagging out on 40 cracking sized fish! Bonus we didn't have to go far 🎣

Quick Update 🩵👣

We’ve got some exciting news to share at Port Hughes Fishing Charters — we’re expecting a very special new “deckhand” to join the crew on June 15th.

We will still be operating and taking bookings as usual, but we’re aiming to keep the schedule a little lighter around June 10th–20th (give or take) while we welcome our newest crew member. If you’re planning a trip during that time, we recommend getting in early or being a little flexible with dates.
Outside of those dates, it’s business as usual — plenty of great fishing, good company, and memorable days out on the water.

🎣 Port Hughes Fishing Charters – This Week’s Availability! 🎣

We’ve got a couple of spots left this week if you’re keen to get out on the water, toms wantd to head out Thursday if we can get a crew together and possibly Saturday.

Thursday: 5 spots available (Full Day Charter)

Saturday: 4 spots available (weather permitting)

We supply everything you need for a great day of fishing – ice, bait, tackle, plus water and soft drinks onboard.

All you need to bring is some lunch and an esky to take your catch home 🐟

on the water today copying our mate Steve Kontos at Insane Fishing Charters with tutorials but with hummingbird instead. We got their Humminbird Helix 12 dialled in properly so they could actually understand what they were seeing on the screen and start spotting fish with confidence instead of just staring at colours and lines.

Went through all the basics of 2D, SI and DI, sounder setup, shortcuts, screen setup, reading structure, bait and fish arches, how to tell the difference in snapper and whiting plus anchoring techniques to land right on the spot every time instead of drifting around wasting time and everything else to do with whiting and their habits and how they move throughout the year.

The fishing definitely backed it all up too — smashed our 30 whiting before lunch, then headed back in, scaled and filleted the catch all before 1pm.

50 whiting!! Definitely feels good to put both scale bags out again

We got out this arvo as soon as the wind finally dropped off with the crew of 5 and it didn’t take long to find the fish 🎣

First drop and the whiting were already climbing over the side, just a steady nonstop bite from the get go. Absolute cracker session and before we even realised we’d completely smashed our 50 whiting with some cracker fish in the mix.

Was unreal watching the storm coming across the water and before we knew it we were in the middle of it, with smiles all round we thought we'd better get a move on, we made it back just infront of the storm and trust me the motors definitely earned their keep today that’s for sure 😂

Thanks again guys was a blast having you on board, sorry we didnt get much of a catch up when we got back in, we hope to see you out again one day 😀

Great to be back out on the water yesterday after a quiet break, and it didn’t disappoint! 🎣 We managed to land some solid King George Whiting, although the snapper were definitely keeping us on our toes—beating the whiting to the bait.

A big thanks to the crew who travelled to join us, and to our regulars who jumped onboard—it’s always a pleasure having you out there with us.
