🌊🐦 Protect Our Shorebirds at Lipson Cove 🪺🌊

Lipson Cove is more than just a beautiful beach—it's a vital breeding, feeding and roosting ground for threatened shorebirds like the Hooded Plover, Red-capped Plover, Sooty Oystercatcher, and Pied Oystercatcher.

From August to March, these beach-nesting birds lay their eggs directly on the sand often above the high tide mark. Their nests and tiny chicks are incredibly vulnerable to disturbance.

🔹 How you can help:
✔️ Please keep your distance from shorebirds on the beach
✔️ Look out for signs and avoid walking between them
✔️ Stay close to the water’s edge to avoid nest areas
✔️ Leash your dog during breeding season—unleashed dogs can scare off adults and harm chicks

These little birds need your help to survive. Let’s all do our part to protect this precious beach habitat 💙

🦪 Simple pleasures, perfected.
Step into the pristine waters of Coffin Bay and slow down with one of South Australia’s most unique experiences — the Coffin Bay Oyster Farm Tour.

Wade through crystal-clear shallows, feel the salt on your skin, and taste oysters so fresh they've never even seen a kitchen. Learn the rhythm of the tides, the craft of oyster farming, and the quiet joy of savouring nature’s finest, right from where it’s grown. 🌊

This is more than a tour — it’s a moment to reconnect with the land, the sea, and the simple pleasure of eating straight from the source.

Whale Season is Here – But Not for Long!

Every winter, the giants of the deep make their way to the sheltered waters of Fowlers Bay. Witness the beauty of these gentle giants up close.

Whale watching cruises give you a front-row seat to Southern Right Whales as they come in close to shore to breed, calve, and play. It's breath-taking nature just metres away.

📅 Season runs only a few short months (July–Sept).

Visit Port Lincoln

Port Lincoln, on South Australia’s Southern Eyre Peninsula, is the traditional home to the Barngarla people, the traditional owners of this land. The traditional Barngarla name for Port Lincoln is ‘Kallinyalla’ (pronounced Galinyalla), it means ‘place of sweet water’.

Port Lincoln is home to the country’s largest commercial fishing fleet, a diverse aquaculture industry, and is undoubtedly a seafood lover’s paradise, with some of the freshest and most sought-after seafood in the world.

And, to perfectly complement Port Lincoln’s renown for all sea creatures great and small, there are award-winning wines, local goodies, and an incredible diversity of coastal activities and ocean experiences that will have you wishing there were more hours in the day.

Think unique dining experiences, culinary tours, fishing charters, shark cage diving, swimming with sea lions, rugged coastlines, breathtaking coastal views, perfect beaches, native wildlife and so much more.
