Sincere thanks to the organisers and volunteers of the Bay Festival Port MacDonnell who put so much thought and effort into showcasing our town over the weekend in trying conditions.

We had so much fun teaming up with Tide Espresso Bar serving seafood and drinks from our new Court House Bar. The cocktails were flowing, the courtyards were full and the feedback and support we received from visitors and locals was so encouraging 🙏

This 1896 watercolour caught our eye, because it was such an interesting view of Mount Gambier and the Valley Lakes. It turns out that the artist, Margaret Ann French, was a Port MacDonnell local!

Margaret was a daughter of Captain Edward French, whose prominent shipping agency and warehouse was located just across the road from the Customs House.

The lynch gate at the Bay Road Christ Church is a memorial to Margaret, who died in 1927.
