Hey Helloworlders.
The Variety Bash SA is fast approaching! In early August, Gino, Nino and myself (Darren-ino) will be embarking on an epic quest from Adelaide to Coober Pedy and back to raise funds for Variety – the Children’s Charity. Variety – the Children’s Charity supports kids and families who are facing many challenges through sickness, disadvantage or living with disability. Their work allows kids to gain mobility, to get out and about in the community, to communicate, achieve independence and increase their self-esteem. They make sure the kids who miss out, can always join in, because all kids deserve a fair go.
The Variety Bash is Australia's longest running and most iconic charity motoring event. Known for its flair and fanfare, it's always a sight to behold when the Variety Bash comes to town.
Back in March you may remember we had our Bash car – No 51 Days of Thunder – at Helloworld with a sausage sizzle and some tin-rattling. A few weeks ago I went up to Adelaide to help the boys with their highly-successful fund-raising night at Gino’s Nursery, where we drank and barbequed and raffled and auctioned.
Helloworld Portland has for many years supported your schools, your raffles, your sporting clubs - now I’m calling on you to help us smash our target and raise as much as we possibly can to help those kids in need. Attached is a QR code that you can scan and donate that way, I have a donation tin at Helloworld (116 Percy Street) or for businesses I can ask Variety to raise an invoice for you and you can donate that way.
