Situated in the heart of bustling Guangzhou city, W Hotels Worldwide celebrates the grand opening of their first property in China, W Guangzhou.

W Guangzhou is situated in the city’s bustling Pearl River New Town District, a rapidly evolving center of entertainment, commerce and design, that is home to dozens of Fortune 500 companies and luxury shopping malls, adjacent to some of China’s oldest cultural treasures. The hotel offers a fully integrated contemporary lifestyle experience that stylishly reflects Guangzhou’s unique energy and personality as an ancient city in the midst of a modern economic explosion.

The design of W Guangzhou uniquely juxtaposes the historic capital city’s modern urban tapestry through its cutting-edge architecture and modern interiors. The exterior, defined by sleek black glass, has been envisioned by renowned architect Rocco Yim, who has developed some of China’s most recognisable and iconic projects. A stunning entrance features a 19-meter tall “Luminous Water Wall” by WETDesign, evocative of Impressionist paintings with a liquid mosaic of light, lines and colour.

Shenzhen-Guangzhou bullet trains (D-trains) will arrive only at Guangzhou East Railway Station during the Spring Festival travel rush from January 26, 2013.

Guangzhou Railway Station (the the main railway station in Guangzhou) will be temporarily out of service for Shenzhen-Guangzhou bullet trains during this period, in order to ease the pressure on Guangzhou Railway Station. Check out Guangzhou Train Transport.

Passengers taking D-trains from Shenzhen to Guangzhou and needing to transfer to other trains in Guangzhou Railway Station should allow more transit time.

The Spring Festival travel rush 2013 will start on January 26, lasting 40 days to March 6. During this period, railway traffic in China is quite congested, especially in metropolises including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen.
