Let’s ask Billy.... Can you book a trip to Africa on your own? 🌍 Yes… absolutely you can. But the logistics are a lot more complicated than most people think.

Permits, park fees, transfers, internal flights, accommodation in remote areas, it adds up fast and takes hours to organise.

Booking through a travel agent or operator usually works out to be a similar price or cheaper and saves you an enormous amount of time and stress.

So how long do you actually need in Africa to make it worthwhile? 🤔

If you’ve got months , then amazing, there is so much to see. But, 2 to 3 weeks is also enough time to take a lot in without feeling rushed.

Our tip? Choose either Southern or Eastern Africa for that length of trip. Not both. You’ll get so much more out of it and leave wanting to come back for the rest.

Have you heard of Mana Pools in Zimbabwe? 🐘

Is this ome of Africa’s best kept secrets? Wild dogs, incredible safaris and one of the only places in the world where you can see elephants standing on their hind legs to reach the trees. Oh and it’s a UNESCO World Heritage site too.

Off the beaten track and absolutely worth adding to your African travel itinerary! ✈️
