The Rathdowney Visitor Information Centre is located on the Mt Lindesay Highway in Rathdowney. We are an accredited visitor information centre offering a one stop shop for travel information including maps, brochures, and itineraries. Staffed by skilled and knowledgeable locals, the Rathdowney Visitor Information Centre can provide advice on the things to see, things to do and where to eat. Discuss with the friendly staff your travel plans.

a couple of weeks ago there was a fire threat in the district along with the fact that there had been virtually no rain for months. this past week has seen Rathdowney and surrounding areas receive, in some areas, up to 250mm. The paddocks have suddenly turned from brown to emerald green.

The women of Rathdowney invite you to join then at the Community Christmas Party at the Memorial Grounds on Sunday the 15th December. From 4.30pm. Free event. Come along and relax with friends and neighbours. See you there.

Another great day at the Information Centre On Sunday. Volunteers spent a busy day both in the Centre itself and as part of the Eat Local promotion. The sausage sizzle ran out of sausages and the tasting table as usual was a great hit. The fresh produce, baking, coffee can, market stalls and meat truck all had good sales. The live music from Broke’N’Bones provided a real carnival atmosphere for the visitors to the Centre. The weather could not have been better. A bright sunny day that was also enjoyed by families picknicing in the park and playground. In the meantime, a charity campdraft was being held in the Memorial Grounds.
Cars and motor bikes lined Collins Street all day - it was a busy day in Rathdowney.
