Today's weather has got me reminiscing about my childhood at Front Beach.
Here is a picture of Boy and Girl Rock viewed from the Robe Foreshore.

Hours and hours spent exploring the rocks, looking for seaweed and sea creatures in the crevices and rockpools, being brave enough to walk through the sand holes or snorkel in between, and watching the sea recede to the rocks at low tide.

The debate today is which one is Boy Rock and which one is Girl Rock?

Did you know that the big rock was also called Butchers Rock. The story is, that before refrigeration, the local butcher used to keep his meat fresh by hanging it on the ocean side of the rock.....

And finally, according to local Sandy Moore, in the gap between both rocks, you have the Neptunes - Prince Neptune, Queen Neptune, and King Neptune out the furtherest. They were low reefs, and you could jump between them at low tide, and it was a pretty big achievement to get out to King Neptune to the big sandhole....

📚 We read “Plant the Tiny Seed” today at Story Time 📚

As a special gift kathyshothouse_localseedlings kindly donated her “hero flowers” the Calendula for each of the children🪴

🌱 Each flower grew with lots of love from a tiny seed- just like our book! 🌸

If you haven’t been to Kathy’s hothouse yet- do yourself a favour!! It is amazing!
