The famous Rottnest Golf Club game day Friday 12June 2026 had a group of long time members having a selfie on the iconic McNab hole from the best tee in the State of WA.
The photo shows in the direction of front, left,right,back as Quokkaphil, Stumpy, Noddy, OldPlod, real names withheld due to patent restrictions. Their recognition is 1. Life member, long time committee member, 2. Hole in one on the old 6th par 3, the first since the course became fully green, 3 winner of the Cup in the 90ies, past Ckub Treasurer 4. Life Member, lifetime committee member, retired Island OIC Policeman and who actually holds legend status since today.

Season opening event starts Friday 8th May (tomorrow) Hotel Rottnest Trophy day which leeds into the RIA Chairman’s Cup Saturday and the GolfStix sponsored Birdy Trophy Sunday to wrap up the weekend.

Playing the new temp course after loosing the 9/18th hole to a new service road.
The 1st/10th has been converted to two par3 to make up for the instillation of new road to Clubhouse.
There has been a slope change now at 104 men from110 and 107 women. Means handicap rated players loose a few more strokes to play on the modified course now.
Speaking of the course: it is in great condition after our usual extended summers and the greens are as true as they ever have been. Still one has to be very careful gauging putting speed and break. A lip out is common if the ball is not in the jaws of the hole.
Hey the weather is perfect for golf this time of year. Get involved.

Sad news from Rottnest Staff FB page

“It is with a sad heart that I have to inform you all that our dear friend Terry Davis passed away last Wednesday!! That is all I know at this stage His sister is over from the east and is dealing with arrangements! She said she would let me know what was happening at the appropriate time.

Farewell old mate. I’ll miss your company.”
