My Highlight of Vanuatu! 🌴✨

One of the most memorable experiences of our Vanuatu trip was the incredible Pepeyo Cultural Visit. It was such an eye-opening journey into the traditional ways of living!

The rich cultural heritage and knowledge shared by the community was super inspiring. Witnessing firsthand how they adapt and thrive working with nature was an unforgettable reminder… 🌺 (Stay connected to our earth & you can’t go wrong…)

From understanding the hunting techniques (even using spider webs to catch fish….) to discovering the medicinal properties of local plants (who needs iron tablets when you have an abundance of Coleus growing around you?!!) and seeing how they cleverly preserve food to ensure their survival throughout the year (because tropical seasons be wild….), every moment was so interesting. This visit wasn't just an educational experience; it was a deep connection to the heart of Vanuatu's traditional lifestyle. 🏝️

I can’t recommend the village tour enough, it’s left me wanting so much more…. 🇻🇺

There are so many things I love about travel but I think my favourite part is the people you meet along the way. 💁🏼‍♀️🙋‍♂️🧍🏽‍♂️🧍🏾‍♀️👴🏼👵🏻

The ones that you chat to at dinner, the ones you sit next to on the tours you take together, the tour guides, the people who take such good care of you in the accommodation you choose or the restaurants you dine in or the bars you drink in. ✈️

This trip has been packed with the best people ever & I’m so grateful, with a heart that is full.

Halo from Vanuatu! 🌴✨

I’ve been a bit MIA & you can imagine why…

Yesterday’s highlights included rope & tree jumps, swimming & snorkeling at the Blue Lagoon, which is known for its crystal clear turquoise waters. I’m a huge fan of anything water related & my favourite colours are turquoise, teal, green etc etc, so I was in my element. 🤣

The Blue Lagoon is a direct result of Vanuatu’s unique geology. When it rains, water from the islands’ volcanic mountains flows underground into limestone caves, which corrodes the limestone and creates underground streams. Eventually, these streams resurface as freshwater springs, or what we know as the blue holes. The waters in these blue holes are incredibly clear, creating a luminescent effect that seems almost too perfect to be natural.

Life is getting expensive right?! The good news is, you can still tick off those bucket travel lists..

I’ve put together some of my top tips to help you make the most of your trip without breaking the bank:

🏝️ Plan Ahead - Work with me & I’ll help you plan out your best options and book flights and accommodations in advance to snag you the best deals.

✈️ Travel Off-Peak - Avoid peak travel seasons and holidays for lower prices and fewer crowds.

💰Be Flexible - Flexibility with your travel dates and destinations can lead to significant savings.

🚌 Use Public Transportation - Embrace local public transport instead of taxis or rental cars. (This is an amazing place to connect with locals too!)

🍝 Cook Your Own Meals - Save on dining out by shopping at local markets and cooking your own meals.

🧑‍🍳 Eat local - If dining out is what makes your holidays amazing, then find out where the locals eat & follow them… It’s cheaper to eat outside of the main tourist areas too so look for options a little further out. You’ll also get that authentic experience.

⛱️ Free Activities - Look for free or low-cost activities, like hiking, museums with free entry days, and local festivals.

🛄 Travel Light - Avoid extra baggage fees by packing light and smart.
