WELL, THIS IS A BIT SPECIAL. ❤️

We’ve kept our hat in The Age Good Food Guide for 2027. And somehow, we’ve also landed on the list of 100 Essential Restaurants.

We’ve been trying to find the words for this one, and honestly, we’re not sure we have them.

When Matt and I opened Grace, we wanted to build something that felt like us. Good food, good w**e, the sort of hospitality that makes people feel like they belong, and a whole lot of Rutherglen. A place that takes what it does seriously, without taking itself too seriously.

And we wanted to do it our way, in our town, backing the people and produce around us.

To have that recognised, not once but again, is something we’ll never take for granted.

To our team, thank you for the care, the hard work, the attention to detail and all the little things that people might never see but that make Grace. what it is. This belongs to you just as much as it belongs to us.

Our growers, producers, w**emakers and suppliers, whose hard work and generosity make what we do possible.

And to Rutherglen. Our neighbours, our regulars, our friends, the locals who fill our seats and the people who travel here and choose to spend a little of their lives with us. You’ve backed us, cheered us on, celebrated with us and made this little business feel like so much more than a restaurant.

Grace. might have our names on the door, but it has so many people's fingerprints all over it.

We know how lucky we are to do what we do, where we do it. And we know none of this happens in isolation.

Two years of a 🎩. One spot among 100 essential restaurants. Two very full hearts. And still just two kids from a little country town, trying to make something we're proud of.

Visiting Rutherglen with young ones this school holidays? Don't worry, we've got you.

Kids will love the playground, skate park and small bike circuit at Apex Park, just one block from Main Street. You'll also find BBQ facilities for an easy family day out.

To burn off some energy, grab your bikes and explore the Rutherglen Loops. The gentle section between Rutherglen and Wahgunyah is ideal for little riders, with maps and bike hire, including children's tag-a-longs, available from the Rutherglen W**e Experience and Visitor Information Centre.

And when it's time for a treat, stop by Gelatina for artisan gelato made from scratch and crafted fresh on site. A scoop or two is well deserved after a day of family adventures.

After dinner, take a short walk up the hill to The Rutherglen W**e Bottle. If you're coming from The Convent Brewery it's a straight hike up Culbertson Street in less than 10 mins.

If you're coming from Main Street, breeze past the new fairy lights at Gollings Square and make your way up High Street or Murphy Street to enjoy sweeping views of Rutherglen beneath a sky full of stars.

On Sunday 6 September, treat Dad to riverside tunes at St Leonards Vineyard's Music on the Murray, featuring Toby Mobbs Music from 11am to 3pm, with lunch available from the St Leonards Kitchen.

Catch the last of the daylight and discover a different side of Rutherglen at Morris of Rutherglen's Sunset Cellar Door this Thursday.

As part of the Dark Side of W**e, Morris of Rutherglen is opening late for an evening of sunset sips, wh**ky cocktails and twilight relaxation. With their kitchen now operating under Head Chef James, you can also settle in for dinner and make a night of it.
