Just a few minutes from Rutherglen, the River Loop walk in Wahgunyah is a genuinely beautiful way to spend a school holidays morning (or honestly, any morning).

It's 4km along the banks of the Murray. Flat, easy, unsealed and sealed riverside paths under towering gums. You can walk it in under an hour or cycle it in 20 minutes. The kids can dip their toes in at the sandy beach at Willows Reserve. Everyone can slow down and actually breathe for a bit.
