✈️ If you are thinking “Should I cancel my Europe trip?” Don’t panic-cancel. Take a breath and read this first!

The situation in parts of the Middle East has caused some airspace restrictions and flight rerouting, but the aviation industry is adapting quickly. It’s a fluid situation, and it is completely normal for travellers to feel uncertain. But here’s the important part: don’t panic-cancel your trip!

What we are doing right now:
✨ Monitoring departures closely, especially travellers flying in the next few days or weeks. We are keeping track of airline updates and route adjustments as they happen.
✨ Looking at alternative routes if needed, there are still multiple ways to reach Europe, and airlines are constantly adapting their flight paths.
✨ Protecting your booking rights!!! If the airline cancels or changes your flight, you normally retain your entitlement to a refund or rebooking options.
*** Please note: Cancelling on your own could remove those protections. The best approach is to wait for the airline to make any changes or cancellations, which protects your rights. ***

Practical tips for travellers:
✨Download your airline's app and check the Manage My Booking tab before heading to the
airport to make sure your flight is actually going ahead
✨Register with Smart Traveller: www.smartraveller.gov.au
✨If you're already in the Middle East and want to get home, register with DFAT now - Middle
Eastern carriers are repatriating Australians with no additional charges
✨If you're booked to travel in the next few months, talk to your TWAC travel consultants as there are plenty of alternative routes.

Our CEO Jane returned from her Europe ski trip last month, flying through the Middle East with Qatar Airways and transiting via Doha Airport. Operations were running smoothly, with airlines and airports clearly prioritising passenger safety. 2025 has been filled with meaningful travel experiences, alongside some very special moments within the Travel with a Cause team.

🐾Office morale at its finest: Toby continues to take his role as Chief Comfort Officer very seriously, closely supervising the arrival of the Travellers’ Choice 2026 calendar (and “manning the phones”).

🎄🐕A Personal Christmas Wish: I will be spending time with family on Tasmania’s East Coast this Christmas, enjoying simple shack life - fishing, swimming, and long beach walks with the dogs. A chance to slow down, reflect, and recharge for the year ahead. 🌊

🌟📅Christmas & New Year Office Closure
Our Travel Consultants will be taking a well-earned break from 23 December to 5 January. Responses may be limited during this period, but we will be back refreshed and ready to assist in the New Year.

🌊 Our CEO Jane just back from sailing Due West, a bareboat catamaran she chartered with her husband Chris and friends Helen and Anthony in Queensland. ⛵️ They started in Airlie Beach, had a full morning of hands-on training with our instructor Gig, then off they went into the Whitsundays on our own. 🌴 One of their first stops was Nara Inlet, where we took the tender ashore for a short walk to the ancient caves - a quiet, powerful place that made them pause and realise how special this corner of the world is. 🪨🌿

While sailing to Butterfly Bay, they was lucky enough to spot whales - truly a wild and spectacular moment! 🐋 Between reef snorkels, navigating shifting winds, and (mostly) mastering the anchor, they found our rhythm onboard. ⚓️ There were a few panicked moments, a lot of laughter and endless views. 😂🌅 It was equal parts holiday and adventure. As Jane sits here back on solid ground, she already miss the freedom of the sea and the quiet joy of sailing under our own steam. Still rocking from the charter catamaran life! 🌞⛵️

Winter is always a good time to escape somewhere warmer, and we have noticed more clients enquiring about tropical holidays. ☀️✈️
