🌿 When she found her willow tree hideout and absolutely refused to leave 😄

Kyoto has a way of making even the smallest explorers feel like they’ve stepped into a fairy tale. This little one spent a solid 10 minutes peeking through these branches, completely in her own world and honestly, I didn’t want to pull her away either.

Japan with kids > everything 🇯🇵✨

New era, same wanderlust. Two kids, one carry-on, and the audacity to think this is a good idea.

If you’ve been here a while, you might have noticed things getting a little more stroller-shaped around here lately. This is me making it official.

If you’re new here: hi, I’m Emma, a mum of two who refuses to let motherhood cancel her passport. If you’ve been here since the solo days: I’m sorry, it got a lot louder.

Come for the travel tips, stay for the chaos. Link in bio. 🌍✈️

One of the biggest travel mistakes I see parents make:
Planning around itinerary instead of energy.
Kids don’t just get tired — they get overstimulated.
And that’s what turns a great day into a meltdown.
I share tips like this (plus real itineraries) in my weekly newsletter:

European cities with kids don’t have to feel overwhelming.
The mistake most people make?
Trying to do too much.
The shift that changes everything:
→ 1–2 key things per day
→ everything else is optional
I’ve shared exactly how to approach cities like Rome, Paris + more:

If you’ve been nervous about travelling with kids… start with Singapore.
It’s clean, easy, safe and everything just works.
No complicated logistics.
No constant problem-solving.
Just a trip you can actually enjoy.
I’ve pulled together exactly how to do it (with kids, stopovers, Universal + full itinerary):

✈️ REAL TALK: long-haul flights with a baby…
Before our first big trip, this was the part I was most nervous about.
The hours.
The sleep (or lack of it).
The “what if everything goes wrong” spiral at 2am while packing snacks 😅
And to be honest… we’ve had some moments.
Like the time my toddler spilled wine all over me mid-flight… and I realised I hadn’t packed a spare change of clothes 🙃 (a very long, very sticky few hours after that).
Or the overnight business class flight from Sydney to Japan where she screamed… basically the entire way.
Yes, even in business class. Yes, even with all the “right” things packed.
So I’m not coming at this as someone who’s had perfect flights.
But I can say this:
👉 it’s not effortless…
👉 but it’s also nowhere near as bad as you think — if you prepare for the right things.
After doing multiple long-haul flights with a baby/toddler, I’ve pulled together everything that actually helped us:
✔️ how we approached sleep (and what realistically works)
✔️ what we packed vs what we didn’t need
✔️ the small things that make a huge difference mid-flight
✔️ and what I’d do differently every time now
If you’ve got a big trip coming up — or you’re still in that “should we even attempt this?” phase — this will help you feel a lot more prepared:

This was the year I became a mum again 🤍
The year I held a tiny human in my arms and felt that overwhelming, unconditional kind of love all over again.

My firstborn suddenly felt so grown up, yet so vulnerable, as I learned how to split my attention between two little girls for the very first time. The newborn stage felt calmer and more familiar this time around, but the jump from one to two? Much harder than I ever imagined — especially at bedtime.

Five months into our new normal and sleep is still something that mostly evades us. But having a front-row seat to the precious interactions between my daughters makes every tired moment worth it. These girls absolutely adore each other, and my heart might never recover.

Everything else this year pales in comparison.
It hasn’t been easy, but 2025 — you’ve been the best year yet ✨
