BREAKING NEWS

It is with sincere regret that Tempo Holidays and Bentours (AUS/NZ) advise that as at 3.00pm, 19th September, 2019 the business has been placed in voluntary administration.

Tempo Holidays and Bentours (AUS/NZ) have been advised by Cox and Kings (India) that the company have been in recent weeks seeking investors/buyers with heavy interest however as this has not been materialised as of today Tempo Holidays and Bentours are unable to continue operating in AUS/NZ.

The board is in the process of appointing an official administrator who will then co-ordinate with all the interested parties.

While today the staff have been dealt with the devastating news, Tempo Holidays and Bentours staff will be working with respective agents/suppliers and clients to assist in next steps once confirmed.

It is understandably a sad day for all staff concerned along with trade. Tempo Holidays and Bentours have been wholesalers within AUS/NZ for over 30 and 40 years respectively and have experienced great success and growth over recent years. We have had the pleasure in providing dream holidays for all of our customers. We are proud and thank all of our passionate and supportive staff for their contribution and dedication over the years. We also extend our deepest and sincere gratitude to all of our travel agents and trade partners for their loyalty and their continual support over the years.

1. Beef heart - The two skewers of “traditional” beef heart are as rich and dense as they are meagerly proportioned. Served with a tangy Peruvian pepper and parsley, the skewers have to be one of the must-try options 🐄

2. Fried baby birds - The chefs clean the inside of the birds, remove the heads (thankfully) and sauté them in a sweet pomegranate-infused sauce 🐦

3. Sea cucumber - It’s slimy, slug-like and has an off-putting odour, but it doesn’t have much flavour. Like tofu, sea cucumbers take on the flavours of the sauce they are cooked in 🥒

4. Ostrich - The stomach-swelling skewers of Ostrich are heavy, gamey and succulent, replete with a generous side of barbecued vegetables. Healthy-living bonus: despite being classified as red meat, ostrich is actually lower in fat than chicken or turkey, and very high in protein 🍢

5. Camel pizza - The eight-slice pie comes with a crispy, thin crust; a simple red sauce; lots of mozzarella cheese; and a generous helping of minced camel meat 🍕

1. Coda alla vaccinara: This dish is made from cow tail stewed for hours in a savory tomato sauce 🍅

2. Pajat: It is made from the intestines of veal that have not been weaned from their mother, so that their bellies are full of mother’s milk, which becomes creamy and cheesy when cooked 🥛

3. Trippa: In Rome, tripe is eaten after it has been cooked in tomato sauce. Florence is another city that is fond of tripe, where it’s called lampredotto and is cooked in a white sauce and served as a hot sandwich 🥪

4. Strange salami: Cured pork is another weird food area in Italy, using many parts of the pig. One of the strangest is coppa di testa, which in English is called “headcheese”. Made with parts of the head, this salami often looks marbled and can be served as a tagliere, or a mixed meat and cheese plate 🐖

5. Vegetables: If you lean toward veggies instead of meat, don’t worry! There are some strange vegetables served in Italy. One is agretti found in the spring, which looks like a thick grass and tastes wonderful slightly boiled and then mixed with some lemon juice and olive oil 🥬
