A small change to how you can pay for your Two’s a Crowd tour from 1 October.

New card payment rules come into effect across Australia from tomorrow, 1 October 2026. Businesses will no longer be able to add a surcharge when customers pay by credit or debit card.

For all businesses, including ours, those merchant fees don’t disappear. We still have to pay them.

One option would be to simply increase all our tour prices to cover those costs.

We don’t think that’s fair.

A large percentage of our travellers pay by direct bank transfer. Increasing everyone’s tour price would mean those customers were effectively helping to cover the merchant fees of customers who choose to pay by card.

So we’ve decided on a different approach.

From 1 October:

• You can still pay your initial tour deposit by credit card or direct bank transfer.

• Two’s a Crowd will absorb the credit card merchant fee on that deposit.

• Progress payments and final tour balances will need to be paid by direct bank transfer.

It’s a simple change designed to help us keep our tour prices as competitive as possible, rather than building additional payment costs into the price everyone pays.

We think that’s the fairest approach for all our travellers.

🇮🇹 La dolce vita is alive and well in Tuscany!

Our Two’s a Crowd travellers have been soaking up Tuscany for the past few days and, judging by the photos and reports coming back, life is pretty good right now!

The weather has been glorious, they’re loving their home for the week at the Grand Hotel Cavour, right in the historic heart of Florence, and there has been plenty of good food, w**e, laughter and, of course, gelato.

So far they’ve explored the beautiful Chianti countryside, enjoyed w**e tasting among the vineyards, discovered Florence on foot and visited the incredible Uffizi Gallery. Yesterday took them into medieval Tuscany, with Siena, San Gimignano and another little taste of Chianti along the way.

Then into the Tuscan hills for a hands-on cooking class in a 300-year-old country home, followed by lunch featuring their own creations.

And there’s still plenty to come!

🍷 Then it’s the spectacular Val d’Orcia, with Pienza, Pecorino cheese, Montalcino and Brunello w**e at a rather special vineyard where Mozart is played amongst the vines.

🏰 And before they say arrivederci to Tuscany, there’s the medieval walled village of Monteriggioni and a final night together over dinner in Florence.

Then comes the best bit...

This Tuscan adventure is actually just the beginning. On Friday they fly to Budapest to join our exclusive 5-star, Two’s a Crowd Danube River Cruise charter. While the cruise itinerary has been modified to adjust to current river levels, it still promises to be an awesome journey through Eastern Europe🚢🇭🇺
